However, after coming to power in 2019, the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) introduced a three-capital proposal, citing administrative convenience and the need for decentralization of development. Now, once again, the coalition government is reaffirming that Amaravati will be the sole capital, with the reconstruction works being inaugurated on May 2 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. But this raises some questions: Did the previous government actually relocate any government offices to Kurnool or Visakhapatnam, the other proposed capitals? What is the current status of those locations?
