Will West Brom pay compensation for Tony Mowbray's replacement?

00:00Regards to compensation, I think the way I read it and from bits I've heard,

00:07I get the impression, should Aubien deem someone the, you know,

00:12whatever the data says, whatever they feel from interviews and stuff,

00:15the man they want, I could see them going and paying what would be required.

00:23Now, listen, I don't know what would be required.

00:25There'd be a world where the fee that a parent club would want

00:29is too much, I'm sure.

00:33Don't know the contracts, don't know the inside outs of that.

00:36So it's hard to say.

00:37But what did Aubien Bank have reported as far as we understand?

00:41Was it two and a half million for Corbran to Valencia?

00:44And Corbran had a fair chunk left on his time, didn't he?

00:47So it's funny, isn't it?

00:50Because, and it's different, you know, people say, well,

00:56Isaac Price costs two million, north of two million in January.

01:00Tammy Abani costs north of three million in January.

01:03And, you know, they may be the case, but I don't necessarily think it's that black

01:09and white, that straightforward when it comes to, you know,

01:12and I think, so what's two million pounds compensation for a manager,

01:16for a head coach?

01:17But look, I can't speak on behalf of Bill,

01:18but I don't know how those finances specify and differ.

01:23But, yeah, look, I think it makes sense that the club would,

01:31first of all, mostly be looking at those that aren't currently in work.

01:34But I think this period of time, time around the season,

01:39you know, and we're talking continent-wise here, European-wise,

01:42maybe further, it's a time where jobs change, isn't it?

01:46People leave, things freshen up, all of that.

01:50So I think the club at least have got themselves in a good time

01:53where they can just see for a couple of weeks, maybe further into May,

01:59you know, oh, so-and-so's finishing at, you know, Club X this summer

02:04and we quite like him.

02:05The data kind of points at him.

02:07And maybe a free, quote-unquote, free appointment is always preferable, maybe.

02:16But, look, if Bilko were here to answer the question now

02:19that we're talking about, I'm pretty sure they would say,

02:21yeah, if he's our man and he would cost one million or two million,

02:26we'd not have a problem of paying it, you know.
