00:00My hair looks good today, so I'm going to answer this question, or at least part of it.
00:03I started my career as an actress. I was in Gone Girl and Mistress America, a TV show called Notes Art in the Jungle.
00:10A while back, I decided to focus on writing. I wrote a book, and also on music.
00:15The day that I was set to make my debut at the Grand Ole Opry, I get a call.
00:20I get asked to audition for a top-sequent film.
00:23It'll do grilled cheese, which I gathered was not real, but I like grilled cheese, so it worked.
00:27I did the scene, and the casting associate was like, hey, you know you have to sing in this.
00:32And I was like, do you want me to sing right now?
00:34And they were like, oh, we found this video of you walking down a crowded street naked while singing, so we'll just send that to the director.
00:39And I was like, I guess it worked. I got the part.
00:42They're so excited when I found out it was Ryan Coogler directing and Michael B. Jordan starring.
00:45Downside was that I did have to cancel a tour that I was going on, with the exception of my set at Stagecoach.
00:52Pretty much right after this moment, I flew back to Louisiana to film this scene.
00:56Fortunately, I'm going to get to go back to a lot of the cities I missed last year this coming June.
01:01Maybe I'll even sing Go Lassie Go.
