Taiwan Defense Ministry Spokesperson Promoted to Key Administrative Role

Taiwan President Lai Ching-te presided over the promotion of several senior military officers, including Lieutenant General Sun Li-fang, the defense ministry spokesperson who will now take on a key administrative role.

00:56At the ceremony on Wednesday, Defense Ministry's spokesperson Sun Liefang

01:01was promoted to lieutenant general, one of the highest ranks in the army.

01:06Sun was also promoted to head the Defense Ministry's administration office,

01:10leading the ministry's public communications.

01:26President Lai also credited Sun with improving the army's public image

01:40during his tenure as spokesperson.
