Western Australians could hold the keys to the lodge if the federal election this Saturday is a tight race. The state was once a low priority on the campaign trail with infrequent visits, but in recent years has become more of a political prize.

01:35The Liberals will be aiming to wrestle back territory it lost to Labour and the Teals in 2022.
01:42And there's the wild card of Australia's newest electorate, Bullwinkle, a mishmash of suburban and rural voters.
01:49Anthony Albanese will be hoping to ride the high of WA Labor's thumping state election victory just two months ago.
01:58If Saturday ends up a tight race, Western Australians could once again be the kingmakers of this election.
