00:00We are not expecting New York to be an 8-9-10 win football team
00:05with the cast and crew they have here right now.
00:08If they over-exceed expectation, Joe,
00:11because Russell Wilson, as we have seen him at times,
00:14plays well enough and the defense is solid
00:17and the Giants are on track to win 8-9 games,
00:20maybe staying just enough afloat in the playoff hunt
00:23entering late November, early December,
00:26then we're probably not going to see Jackson dart at all
00:28or as early as we might anticipate.
00:31If the Giants do live up to what the preseason expectations are,
00:36they're around a 4-5-6 win football team,
00:39then I think we see Jackson dart as you laid out
00:41by early November, Halloween, week 8-9-10,
00:46something of the sort that if things are going poorly for Dayball and Shane,
00:51they at least give that sliver of hope of what can happen
00:55if their guy who they drafted in the first round at the quarterback spot
00:59does provide that promise.
01:01Now, with all of that being said, Joe,
01:03that's just the number of games we think Jackson dart
01:06could potentially start at maximum.
01:09Not exactly what Jackson dart would do in those games that he starts
01:14where I think both you and I are rather hesitant
01:17that Jackson dart was worthy of first-round consideration
01:20and will be successful right away in his NFL career.
01:24Yeah, so let me throw a curveball into the equation, Ben, okay?
01:28Because this shows you how bad of a decision it is, okay?
01:34Let's say they start Russell Wilson this year,
01:37and let's say they start 8-2,
01:41and they finish the season, I don't know, 11-6, okay?
01:45And they make a wild card, right?
01:48Oh, and they lose in the first round, you know, to whoever, right?
01:53What do you do then?
01:54Because now, right, you're in the same situation
01:58that you were back with Daniel Jones
02:01where they won a playoff game, they lost to the Eagles,
02:05they had a quarterback that they weren't sure
02:08that they wanted to, you know, move on from
02:10or go forward with,
02:12and they signed him to the extension,
02:13and they're in quarterback purgatory, right?
02:17By getting these two veterans showed how dumb of a move
02:21that really was as opposed to just taking a quarterback
02:24number three overall or trading back and getting Jackson dart.
02:28And the reason why I say that is
02:29because now they did it to save their job solely.
02:33You know, I'm not saying that Abdul Carter wasn't the right pick.
02:36What I'm saying is the two off-season moves
02:39of Jameis and Russell Wilson
02:41were to save both Shane and Dable's ass.
02:45And because they did that,
02:46if they succeed, now that they're done
02:49because then they can only go back.
