California Governor Gavin Newsom Asked Point Blank: How Are You ‘Getting Along’ With Elon Musk Now?

During a press conference on Tuesday, Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) was asked about his relationship with Elon Musk.

00:01You and Elon Musk used to get along pretty well back in the day.

00:03Yeah.

00:04How are you getting along now?

00:06Have you talked about any of these?

00:07This is why we never – I need my chainsaw.

00:12I haven't talked to him lately.

00:16Unsurprising.

00:16But a lot of folks that knew him for decades haven't talked to him lately.

00:20I've talked to a lot of those folks comparing notes.

00:23And, you know, hopefully he comes back around and feels like he's been, you know,

00:30there's some new challenges he's facing.

00:33And I think, you know, one of them is fulfilling the expectations that he set for Doge,

00:41which seem unfulfilled.

00:44They haven't come close to the savings they've asserted.

00:47And even the savings they have asserted, when you stress test it, shows holes.

00:52So I think it's been very damaging, including, by the way,

00:56the fact that Doge cut $400 million from AmeriCorps.

01:03That was Sars Shriver in 1965, you know, the best of people coming together across their differences

01:12for shared experiences in service to our nation.

01:17That was a baton that was passed from Republican administrations to Democratic administrations.

01:22Just eliminated, wiped out $400 million while we're advancing our 16th lawsuit against the administration.

01:30If that's his legacy, it's tarnishing the legacy that he should otherwise be proud of,

01:37creating one of the world's great automobile companies and rocket companies.
