00:03:26Mr. Maria
00:03:28I've kept everything just as it was, but nothing ever stayed the same.
00:03:32You have.
00:03:58She always spoke of you, and how it was important that you would come back someday to this house.
00:04:28You dirty old rascal, how the holy hell did they ever let you back here?
00:04:57How do you know?
00:04:59Oh, by the way, that's a very dangerous game to play.
00:05:02I mean it.
00:05:03Guys have been killed for doing that.
00:05:05So don't joke around, or next time you'll end up in the family morgue.
00:05:09Every part of cruel, especially for the ladies, huh?
00:05:11Tell me, what was your average in Paris?
00:05:13Come on, how many?
00:05:14Probably two a day, huh?
00:05:15I've heard the French are eliminating adultery.
00:05:17They refuse to get married at all.
00:05:19And if they do, the husband will be given a maid to help out in case the dear wife gets a headache.
00:05:23Is that true?
00:05:24You've become just as pernicious as an old rake.
00:05:26Well, I always liked a little bit of variety, and I was born horny.
00:05:31I have no control over it.
00:05:33Well, let's have a look at you.
00:05:34You have the mark of the international traveler.
00:05:36You wear it well.
00:05:37Do I really?
00:05:38As a matter of fact, I've managed to do a little jet setting, too.
00:05:4025 lure days in Turkey.
00:05:43Of course, it doesn't have the same charms as Paris.
00:05:46Well, well.
00:05:47So you've come back to blow your horn and bang it around.
00:05:51No, no.
00:05:52I have no match for the competition here.
00:05:53Don't worry.
00:05:54It's only for a week or two.
00:05:55I should go before the end of the month.
00:05:57I'm selling the house.
00:05:59You've done well.
00:06:00I see you're doing well.
00:06:01Ah, insomma, modestamente è il mio successo anch'io.
00:06:04E non soltanto nel commercio.
00:06:06Ah, sì?
00:06:07Sì.
00:07:14Mi stai a sentire?
00:07:15Ah, sì, sì.
00:07:17È a Caterina, vuoi dire, eh?
00:07:31E allora?
00:07:47E ci ho provato a marito vivo e a marito morto, sai, mica solo io.
00:07:50Ma, rien a faire.
00:07:52Allora è una santa.
00:07:54E come no?
00:08:13M10.
00:08:13E qui in Catania,
00:08:17è slowly edging us out.
00:08:19Now, that's a shock.
00:08:20Ma io maintaino,
00:08:22in una democracia,
00:08:23se la loro gaine controllo,
00:08:25allora, che sarebbe l'ultimo.
00:08:28E l'ultimo è l'ultimo.
00:08:30Ma è vero, è vero, è evidente per ora.
00:08:34Do you realize they're getting stronger each day?
00:08:36We'll all suffer.
00:08:37We ought to have a sense of responsibility
00:08:39to those same traditions that they want to abolish.
00:08:42The two of us went into the dining room
00:08:45and she stood there
00:08:45waiting to see what I would say.
00:08:47Only what the hell could I say to her?
00:08:49She loved it.
00:08:50She thinks she's getting in style.
00:08:52On Sunday, the moving vans came.
00:08:54And the next morning,
00:08:55they got their son registered in school.
00:08:56Really?
00:08:57Oh, I must tell you.
00:09:00Well, daddy is rather pitiful.
00:09:02His poor mind is vague.
00:09:04He gets mixed up.
00:09:05Well, this pretty girl is asking for information.
00:09:07You know, perfectly ordinary sort of routine questions.
00:09:10So she asks him what the child's name is
00:09:12and he says, Claire, odd name.
00:09:14Sex, she says, enormous.
00:09:23I'm losing the fortune.
00:09:25Don't worry, it's against the law.
00:09:40You say, Catherine.
00:09:56Catherine.
00:09:57Louisa, do you know Giuseppe Lagana?
00:09:59No, I certainly did know your mother.
00:10:02Uh-huh.
00:10:02Sit down, please.
00:10:03It's over 15 years, isn't it?
00:10:08There's a lot more.
00:10:10Well, it's like being a witness to a historic meeting.
00:10:13When I write my memoirs, I can say I was there.
00:10:16Notice I'm going to the bar discreetly.
00:10:20Well, I imagine I look different.
00:10:26As a matter of fact, no.
00:10:28You've changed a lot, you know that?
00:10:30Well, yes.
00:10:31Why shouldn't I? They used to take their toll.
00:10:33What can we do?
00:10:35You were merely pretty.
00:10:37Now you're stupendous.
00:10:40People are looking at us, do you notice?
00:10:42Do you really care?
00:10:45Oh, maybe.
00:10:46I know who the gossips are.
00:10:48They're all here fishing.
00:10:49And a girl should consider her honor.
00:10:52We're all a little absurd with our sense of honor, aren't we?
00:10:56I was joking.
00:10:58Are you staying through the summer?
00:11:00Well, then.
00:11:01That depends, I guess, on you.
00:11:05Louisa, wait.
00:11:06What for?
00:11:08I just want to look at you without anyone around, that's all.
00:11:12Well, go ahead, then.
00:11:13But hurry before any of our friends comes and notices
00:11:16is why they'd think I was flirting while my husband's in Milan for four whole days.
00:11:20Time is up.
00:11:21I see.
00:11:23No, I don't.
00:11:24I want you.
00:11:25You must know that.
00:11:26I...
00:11:26You're mad.
00:11:28You mustn't say that anymore.
00:11:32You haven't taken your vitamin C.
00:11:35You're a love.
00:11:35But this kind of conversation is offensive, mere sentimental muck.
00:11:40Forced to hear it from my husband, and that's certainly ample.
00:11:43And you must admit that you've got no right to assume that I choose to sacrifice his trust in me.
00:11:48I know that, but I'm...
00:11:49It makes me unhappy you're so cold and cruel to me, and yet I still adore you.
00:11:53And you flouted as if it were nothing.
00:11:55Many times I thought of you being all alone, and...
00:11:58If I could come and talk.
00:12:00I like to talk, you know.
00:12:01Nothing ever important, but...
00:12:03Not a chance.
00:12:05I know your reputation.
00:12:07And when actually measured, who cares?
00:12:11Only this is there to say to you.
00:12:13So long it's been nice, and in case I see you at the bar.
00:12:17And let's just say...
00:12:18Luisa, meet me tomorrow at 6.45.
00:12:21Alfredo, you break a blood vessel or something.
00:12:38Well, I had the impression you were rather a timid soul.
00:12:42You seemed so years ago.
00:12:44Soon as you walked in the room.
00:12:46I don't know, it seems like...
00:12:47It wasn't by accident.
00:12:49I was looking for you.
00:12:51How good is your memory?
00:12:57Don't worry, I don't forget a thing.
00:13:002-1-6-8-9-0-7.
00:13:04Here I am again.
00:13:07Sorry about that.
00:13:08Am I too soon?
00:13:09Oh, I think we've said it all.
00:13:11You can stay.
00:13:12I'll bet.
00:13:13Giuseppe, you're quite a character.
00:13:15They said so at the bar.
00:13:16It seems you have the status of a celebrity here at Catania.
00:13:19That you live in Paris.
00:13:21Only this I already knew.
00:13:23That you were the first and more platonic, that is, of Catarina.
00:13:26But no one ever taught me that.
00:13:28Louisa.
00:13:29I said platonic.
00:13:30I have a good arm.
00:13:32I'll call you.
00:13:32I hope so.
00:13:34Well, Louisa.
00:13:35It was very pleasant.
00:13:36I hope I'll see you again.
00:13:37You will, darling.
00:13:38Whenever you decide.
00:13:40Au revoir.
00:13:40He's death for a woman.
00:13:46Affectionate, intelligent, handsome.
00:13:48What more is there?
00:13:49And a bachelor?
00:13:51I don't know.
00:13:52You're being sly.
00:13:54But that's not important, is it?
00:14:01You forgot it, I know.
00:14:032-1-6-8-0-9-7.
00:14:06Thank you.
00:14:13Pronto?
00:14:14Catalina, it's Giuseppe.
00:14:16Well, hello.
00:14:18Didn't you think I'd call?
00:14:21Why not?
00:14:22You said you would.
00:14:23No.
00:14:25Well, thank you.
00:14:27A little tired.
00:14:29You know, since I saw you last night, I haven't been able to think about anything else.
00:14:33I...
00:14:36I know.
00:14:38That's how I feel.
00:14:40Are you alone now?
00:14:43Yes.
00:14:44Can I come over?
00:14:46No, not here, no.
00:14:48Where then?
00:14:50Well, I don't know.
00:14:54Can you come tomorrow?
00:14:55How's your coffee?
00:14:56Not bad.
00:14:57I have lots of points.
00:14:59Can I come at 2?
00:15:00At 2.
00:15:03You've got an admirer.
00:15:28You've been hiding things.
00:15:30The grave?
00:15:30It's a very special friend your mama grew up with.
00:15:43Giuseppe and I went to school together.
00:15:45He was very important to me, almost like a beau.
00:15:50Does that mean something special to receive roses from someone, mama?
00:15:53Well, yes and no.
00:15:55Depends on the roses.
00:15:57Depends on the woman.
00:15:58Depends on the person who sends them.
00:16:00And your aunt doesn't appreciate dirty nails.
00:16:02I don't feel like going there.
00:16:03I'll end up hating summer vacations if I'm forced to spend them there all the time.
00:16:13Graziella.
00:16:14Oh, come on.
00:16:17She's very anxious to see you.
00:16:19It's not the whole summer.
00:16:20It's only a few days.
00:16:22Trade your big red rose for a smile.
00:16:24Isn't the man saying to a woman that he loves her when he sends her some flowers?
00:16:34Well, I know it says something.
00:16:36I suppose he's just saying...
00:16:38There's a car.
00:16:39Go ahead.
00:16:39Now, don't keep them waiting.
00:16:40Hurry up.
00:16:43Hey.
00:16:44And I've got to stay there all next week or what?
00:16:49Listen, you stay out of trouble.
00:16:51And Sunday I'll phone.
00:16:52I'll talk to your aunt and tell her to come back early Tuesday morning.
00:16:57Ciao, Bella.
00:16:57Ciao, Bella.
00:17:14Ciao, you just about ran into my daughter.
00:17:28Well, they've got to meet her later.
00:17:34I didn't thank you for the roses.
00:17:36They were lovely.
00:17:44Well, you have something to drink?
00:17:50All right.
00:17:55We are doing nothing wrong.
00:17:58You haven't any reason to worry.
00:18:14All right.
00:18:32Just for a minute.
00:18:32We are doing nothing wrong.
00:18:37Con le donne confidenza solo a letto
00:18:52Dopo si restabiliscono la distanza
00:18:54Uno da qua e l'altro da là
00:18:56Naturalmente con un dovuto rispetto
00:18:58L'ha dovuta cortesia
00:19:00Buongiorno signora
00:19:00Oh ma salutarsi al suo marito
00:19:02Quale amore amore
00:19:04Vacci al letto
00:19:06Ma quando sente buzza d'amore
00:19:07Pidi un esempio da me
00:19:09Scappa
00:21:36That's all
00:21:36He's a little rabbit
00:21:37This one
00:21:38You're not a fool
00:21:44The point is
00:21:45You should try a new tactic
00:21:46Darling
00:21:47Why bother am I important to him
00:21:54It's stupid to expect anything more
00:21:56What's the point in tactics
00:22:00We grew up together
00:22:07After all I went to school with Giuseppe
00:22:09I knew his best friend
00:22:10Seems so pointless to play games
00:22:14I'm sure that's what he's doing love
00:22:16If you forget your pride
00:22:18It's not pride at all Louisa
00:22:19We always have to start right back at zero
00:22:24Mind as a child
00:22:28Love
00:22:30We start all over again each time
00:22:33You're not making sense darling
00:22:35To jump to conclusions is silly
00:22:37I know it's true
00:22:38He could tell a thought
00:22:39But hardly a tragedy
00:22:40Who's making it a tragedy?
00:22:42Except I'm so mad at myself
00:22:49I know you feel dreadful
00:22:51You only
00:22:53Come on the truth now
00:22:55Listen
00:22:56I know I'm a bit of a tard
00:22:59To put it nicely
00:23:00Or you could say
00:23:02I have a penchant for wickedness
00:23:03But fun is fun I say
00:23:05When you're going to fall
00:23:06Then you're going to fall darling
00:23:07Of course it may be injurious to your pride
00:23:10If you get used to it
00:23:12Then you'll forget it
00:23:14Well you're lucky
00:23:20There's a spider in my room
00:23:23I really mean it
00:23:25It's a spider
00:23:26Oh what?
00:23:26I thought it went out of the closet
00:23:28Ooh
00:23:29I wonder if he gets
00:23:30Yes alright
00:23:30I'll be right there
00:23:31Don't
00:23:32I'm not going to stay
00:23:33Ciao Louisa
00:23:33And don't worry love
00:23:35Auntie Cassandra says tomorrow
00:23:38We'll telephone
00:23:38Ciao
00:23:39That you don't mind
00:23:40Do you?
00:23:40Ciao
00:23:41Ciao
00:23:41Alright where'd our spider go?
00:23:44It's a big lie
00:23:45It's a big lie
00:23:46What did you say that for?
00:23:49I wanted her to leave
00:23:50And I thought that would help
00:23:51I know she bores you
00:23:55But then you don't understand her
00:23:56Mama tell me
00:23:59Do you still get flowers from that man?
00:24:03Get into your bed
00:24:04Go ahead
00:24:05Do you hear me?
00:24:06Uh-huh
00:24:07No he hasn't sent me anymore
00:24:09All right
00:24:11Come with me
00:24:14It doesn't matter
00:24:18I'll come over there
00:24:19No don't worry
00:24:21No one will see me
00:24:23I'll be careful
00:24:23You've got to trust me
00:24:25Because I want to show you something
00:24:29Why not?
00:24:31Why not?
00:24:32I know but don't worry
00:24:34I want you to see it
00:24:38Fine
00:24:39It's exquisite
00:24:43But this is priceless
00:24:46I can't
00:24:47It belonged to my mother
00:24:57I want you to wear
00:25:00Please
00:25:01It's pretty
00:25:07Thank you
00:25:09Sì, sì.
00:25:39But...
00:25:41...I realised...
00:25:45...you're what I was looking for, Catalina.
00:25:52And I think about those years without you.
00:25:57All empty, useless, meaningless.
00:26:02I go to others and try to find you.
00:26:09I remember a girl
00:26:12She used to pray for this, you know
00:26:14Forgot to make Giuseppe hers
00:26:16Did she?
00:26:18And now you're mine
00:26:19Mine
00:26:21Mine
00:26:22And you're mine
00:26:25I love you
00:26:31I love you
00:26:33I love you
00:26:39Goody, goody, no school today, Mama
00:26:41Why not?
00:26:43Because you forgot to set your alarm
00:26:45And it's after nine
00:26:46Oh, God
00:26:50What have I done?
00:26:51Mamma Mia
00:26:52I overslept
00:26:53Did he give that to you?
00:26:57Oh, darling
00:26:58That man
00:26:59I mean, the one that likes you, did he?
00:27:07Did you see him again?
00:27:09And in Paris, people think mostly of money
00:27:13A desperate pace
00:27:16A peculiar way of living
00:27:18One learns to adjust to it
00:27:21Yet the tourist
00:27:23After seeing the tour Eiffel in the after-trayon
00:27:26Is sure he knows all Paris
00:27:29Yes, but I heard the girls are a lot prettier
00:27:32Where do you hear that?
00:27:35I know
00:27:35They're often plain there
00:27:38Here they're all pretty
00:27:40Ah, and the French can be so gallant
00:27:42You've managed to emulate that, I noticed
00:27:44How come you took down a picture of your father?
00:27:48Ah, we've got it in the other room
00:27:50It's a lot better suited for a desk than hanging against a wall
00:27:53Mom, we're going in my room
00:27:54Ciao
00:27:55Mamma Mia
00:28:01There's a man that's fast
00:28:04She's no dope
00:28:07I like her
00:28:09Very important, you like her
00:28:11That and more
00:28:12I bet I've adored her anyway
00:28:14I thought it was my idea
00:28:15And she was the one to run to the rescue
00:28:18It was a silly idea
00:28:21She really adored Antonio
00:28:24Maybe I had no right to take it down
00:28:26I think she probably understands what you wanted
00:28:30And she loved him
00:28:31And then the last time
00:28:35Ah, Giorno, Signora
00:28:39The power of love can change the weather, I see
00:28:42It's too early to tell
00:28:43Well, let's hope it reflects
00:28:44Why not, Signora
00:28:45I suddenly realized something
00:28:52It's not so terribly important
00:28:54What others think
00:28:55You have a daughter
00:28:57And what concerns about her?
00:29:00She could have misunderstood
00:29:01I thought I was afraid of
00:29:02If the others aren't important
00:29:04They mean nothing
00:29:05Nothing, nothing
00:29:15No one realized that we've been left alone
00:29:41I was here in the dark
00:29:44Looking out the window
00:29:44And then I saw you come in
00:30:14Mom, is it okay if I go for a swim?
00:30:28Go ahead, as long as you're not late
00:30:30Do you mind?
00:30:32Of course not
00:30:33Ciao, thank you
00:30:34Buongiorno
00:30:34You know, I think she likes treating you as a father
00:30:40I hope that doesn't terrify you
00:30:41No
00:30:44You're going to sleep here?
00:30:51You really want me to stay?
00:30:53Yes, I want you to
00:30:54Good night, Gracia
00:30:57Good night, Gracia
00:31:16Mamma mia che rumore
00:31:32Ragazze abbassate il volume
00:31:34Ragazze abbassate il volume
00:31:37I'll go make some coffee
00:31:40No, so yeah, go for dinner
00:31:44If they get on your nerves
00:31:46That's so loud, I fall
00:32:04I can't smell for something
00:32:15Eww, sing with blah-bye-do
00:32:17I'm setting it up
00:32:19Listen, Mr. Wiggins
00:32:20Oh, wait, I thought I did that
00:32:22It is, may I have a time, Lord?
00:32:29Oh
00:32:30You want the banana?
00:33:00Oh, he's done for the floor
00:33:06Oh
00:33:06Oh
00:33:10Oh
00:33:16Oh
00:33:28Oh
00:33:30Oh
00:33:34Why are you carrying that basil around?
00:34:02Maphrodisiac
00:34:03My condolences
00:34:05No, it's not for me
00:34:07It's for the others, the dear souls
00:34:09What souls?
00:34:10Male or female?
00:34:11My boy, aside from you and me
00:34:12There isn't a worthy cock on the walk
00:34:14They pass from adolescence directly into senility
00:34:17They're all hopelessly entounted
00:34:19Female, the female
00:34:20Now I feel it's our duty to help them
00:34:22And what about you?
00:34:26Are you fighting the boredom?
00:34:28Deeply in love
00:34:29Deeply
00:34:30Naturally
00:34:31Of course, for a cynic
00:34:33It must be a bore
00:34:34Yeah
00:34:36You seem down, though
00:34:37You're way off the mark
00:34:38I'm in an excellent mood
00:34:39It's not exactly euphoric, I would say
00:34:42I wonder why
00:34:44Your lover's a widow
00:34:45Therefore, no infidelity
00:34:46No crime of passion
00:34:47A perfect setup, you know
00:34:48I mean that
00:34:49And to think that you lived there
00:34:51And with the blessing of a rather hot-blooded daughter
00:34:53Graziella
00:34:54Yes, but
00:34:56I only suggested that her interests were unusually mature
00:35:00I didn't call her a putain
00:35:01I think it's better if we just change the subject, Alfredo
00:35:05She's a charming girl
00:35:09Who says she's not?
00:35:11No, you've got to get yourself out of that situation
00:35:13Please, I'm worried about you
00:35:15No, let me explain
00:35:16You're living dangerously
00:35:17You don't consider the possibilities
00:35:19How do you mean?
00:35:22I'll make it plainer
00:35:23No man is a cuckold
00:35:25As long as he's not married, true?
00:35:27But a lover leaves an opening for a husband
00:35:29So your status is fragile
00:35:30Unless you marry Catalina
00:35:31Let's say you do
00:35:33But then she could choose to be untrue
00:35:35When they're inclined to
00:35:36So it doesn't make sense to entertain the thought
00:35:38Therefore, while you remain as her lover
00:35:40Cuckold
00:35:40Yet when she sleeps with him
00:35:42She's being untrue to you
00:35:43And even though you're single
00:35:44You suffer as a true cuckold
00:35:45You see, it's all hopeless
00:35:47Because two cuckolds coexisting
00:35:49In the same household you can't have
00:35:50So all this leads to a fight
00:35:52Each for the other under arrest
00:35:53Either way, you lose
00:35:54That has to be Piridello
00:35:58Catalina
00:36:05Why are you being rude?
00:36:17Didn't you hear me call?
00:36:19It did not apply to me
00:36:21And when I read
00:36:23I'm usually concentrating
00:36:25What is that?
00:36:36Nothing
00:36:37What are you reading?
00:36:43Nothing
00:36:45How long has your mother been gone?
00:36:54Long time
00:36:56Too much
00:37:06You need to buy
00:37:08It's not more
00:37:08You can go
00:37:09You can take
00:37:09You can take
00:37:11It's not
00:37:12You can try
00:37:14You can try
00:37:15You big
00:37:17You're
00:37:17You
00:37:18You
00:37:18What are you reading?
00:37:19I need toольclauuum
00:37:20Grazie a tutti.

00:39:10Grazie a tutti.
00:40:12Grazie a tutti.
00:40:14All right, I'll be there after midnight though.
00:40:16She's going insane, I tell you.
00:40:18She's going mad.
00:40:21Giuseppe.
00:40:22Grazie a tutti.
00:40:24Wake up, here's your coffee.
00:40:26Hey, wake up you.
00:40:28Wake up you.
00:40:41Hey, I said to wake you before I left.
00:40:44See you after midnight.
00:40:46Ciao.
00:40:48Ciao.
00:40:50Ciao.

00:42:08I bet I could sleep a whole week.
00:42:38I bet I could sleep a whole week.
00:43:08I bet I could sleep a whole week.
00:43:38I bet I could sleep a whole week.
00:44:08I bet I could sleep a whole week.
00:44:38I bet I could sleep a whole week.
00:44:40I bet I could sleep a whole week.
00:44:42I could sleep a whole week.
00:44:44I could sleep a whole week.
00:44:46I could sleep a whole week.
00:44:48I could sleep a whole week.
00:44:50I could sleep a whole week.
00:44:52I could sleep a whole week.
00:44:54I could sleep a whole week.
00:44:56I could sleep a whole week.
00:44:58I could sleep a whole week.
00:45:00I could sleep a whole week.
00:45:02I could sleep a whole week.
00:45:04I could sleep a whole week.
00:45:06e non c'è niente da fare
00:45:36chatevi, no, i'm going to be for walk
00:45:38Do you mind?
00:45:39But we told the others we were going to play canasta
00:45:41Well, it doesn't matter. No, you stay here. I'll come back to get you in a couple of hours
00:45:46I don't have to stay
00:45:48Don't eat your plan
00:45:49All right. I was just telling katerina that you look somewhat pale
00:45:54It's only an affectation an area of debauchery that it is to be fascinating to me
00:45:59He could get me into trouble
00:46:07I'll take him when you're finished with him
00:46:09If there's anything left
00:46:11I mean it, darling
00:46:23Tommy
00:46:29Ciao
00:46:30I forgot my lighter
00:46:31Mama's not here. She's playing canasta
00:46:33I see
00:46:35Why did she leave here?
00:46:36I don't know about three I suppose
00:46:59You tired?
00:47:02No
00:47:29I don't eat
00:47:30You tired?
00:47:32No
00:47:37You tired?
00:47:39Why?
00:47:41Look at this
00:47:42He said
00:47:44He said
00:47:46He said
00:47:47He said
00:47:49He said
00:47:50It's not
00:47:52He said
00:47:54He said
00:47:55No, no, no, no.
00:48:25No, no, no.
00:48:26And then a moron tidy.
00:48:27Everyone I know.
00:48:29That's not true.
00:48:30I'm not.
00:48:31Oh, yes, you are.
00:48:32Come here.
00:48:34No.
00:48:35Hand me that magazine, will you?
00:48:40Here.
00:48:45Sit on a while.
00:48:50I got too much to do.
00:48:53Why don't you rest?
00:48:55You can clean up later.
00:48:56No.
00:48:58I'll meet you both when it's over.
00:49:05I'll meet you both when it's over, huh?
00:49:12Don't bother.
00:49:13I'll just take a taxi home, I don't mind.
00:49:14I'll bet he's got a date.
00:49:15If I were you, darling, I would get suspicious about now.
00:49:16You're on my waiting list for an appointment.
00:49:17Ciao.
00:49:18You're on my waiting list for an appointment.
00:49:19Ciao.
00:49:20Ciao.
00:49:21You're on my waiting list for an appointment.
00:49:22Ciao.
00:49:23I'll catch him in the dark.
00:49:24Yeah, it's so easy to have.
00:49:25You'll, uh, let me...
00:49:26Oh, what have we here?
00:49:27Hey, I think you've got something caught under your nose, Orlando.
00:49:28Is that a mustache?
00:49:29It's my first mustache.
00:49:30There's no point in...
00:49:31In your making it so painfully blatant.
00:49:32When you kiss a woman, she must feel the mere hint of hair, not a rose garden.
00:49:33You're on my waiting list for an appointment.
00:49:35Ciao.
00:49:36I'll catch him in the dark.
00:49:38Yeah, it's so easy to have.
00:49:40You'll, uh, let me...
00:49:41Oh, what have we here?
00:49:43Hey, I think you've got something caught under your nose, Orlando.
00:49:46Is that a mustache?
00:49:47It's my first dash.
00:49:49There's no point in...
00:49:52In your making it so painfully blatant.
00:49:56When you kiss a woman, she must feel the mere hint of hair, not a rose garden.
00:50:00My lips are free, see, but your lips are...
00:50:03Denied completely their right to the joys of the sun.
00:50:06The pulp must be bare.
00:50:07Yes, sir.
00:50:08My wife says the same thing.
00:50:10I knew that heaven was so complicated and she'd shave it off.
00:50:14Yeah, yeah, yeah, get rid of it.
00:50:15Shave it all off.
00:50:16It's better.
00:50:17Yes, sir.
00:50:18Thank you, sir.
00:50:19Another marriage saying.
00:50:29He's someone you should know.
00:50:31Born and raised in Catania.
00:50:33And one of the most famous fornicators in Europe.
00:50:36That was honed for many years in Paris.
00:50:40They named it the Latin Quarter because there you find the greatest, uh...
00:50:44Latin lovers of the world.
00:50:46And that's where they're noted for their, uh, bravura, you know.
00:50:49And you can guess what that one's noted for.
00:50:51Sit down, Giuseppe.
00:50:53Enjoying this informal assembly of time wasters here.
00:50:56Hello.
00:50:57Giuseppe.
00:50:58Now, you see, we are gathered here spontaneously to exchange perspectives, to talk of, uh...
00:51:03The fun.
00:51:04No, no, no, no, no, no.
00:51:05Actually, we aren't talking of women.
00:51:07Ah.
00:51:08No, it's psychology this time.
00:51:09Ah.
00:51:10Yes, the psychology of women.
00:51:11Very intriguing.
00:51:12Well, it is.
00:51:13You make love to one, and then afterwards she sees you in the street.
00:51:16You know, she never even notices you.
00:51:20Look, look.
00:51:21Oh, that one.
00:51:22And...
00:51:23Oh, don't turn around.
00:51:24She'll know what I'm talking about.
00:51:25She had an attack the 24th time.
00:51:28What?
00:51:29The 24th time.
00:51:31Ah, Vincent.
00:51:32Nothing serious.
00:51:33A slight case of overstimulation.
00:51:34Now she passes without the slightest recognition.
00:51:38Female, I hate thee.
00:51:42And Shakespeare said it so well.
00:51:44Honorable villain.
00:51:45Damned saint.
00:51:46Insidious.
00:51:47Perfidious.
00:51:48That one was worth six.
00:51:50A very improper remark.
00:51:51Someone could hear you.
00:51:52And take offense.
00:51:53Or worse.
00:51:56It may be offensive, but she's married to a very small man.
00:51:59Now, you see, risks are no problem for suave seducer.
00:52:03A man gets old when he doesn't want to take them.
00:52:08He laughs instead, whose loins are dead.
00:52:11Never is he.
00:52:13Giuseppe, you are being followed.
00:52:16No, no, don't turn around.
00:52:17It's Grazielle.
00:52:19A cornucopia of child.
00:52:22Mediocrity is going to spoil that.
00:52:25Why?
00:52:26Because my friend she'll end up married to a waiter.
00:52:30And listen, what is going on?
00:52:33Is she spying on you?
00:52:34Or is it the other way around?
00:52:37Excuse me.
00:52:40What did I say?
00:52:41Did I say anything?
00:52:43I didn't say anything at all.
00:52:52Giuseppe!
00:52:53I thought you decided to go to the concert.
00:52:54I never said I was.
00:52:55I was sure you would.
00:52:56I'm not going to stay out, because I've got a lot to study.
00:52:58You want me to take you home, don't you?
00:52:59Yes, but only as far as the door.
00:53:00See you later.
00:53:01Bye.
00:53:02Bye.
00:53:03See you later.
00:53:04Bye.
00:53:05Bye.
00:53:06Bye.
00:53:07Bye.
00:53:09Ciao.
00:53:10Is that your boyfriend?
00:53:11Oh, nobody's so bad at me.
00:53:12Sì, sì, sì, sì, sì, sì, sì.
00:53:42I see him sometimes, that's all.
00:53:44Is it just a friend or the one that...
00:53:46Yeah, that's the one, but I haven't known him for very long.
00:53:49Were you planning to come here together?
00:53:52He did ask, that's true, but I said no.
00:53:55I told him things weren't like they were before.
00:53:58Before what?
00:54:04Let's go up, do you want to?
00:54:08Hey, wait.
00:54:09Ciao, Mama.
00:54:11I was having ice cream with Bibi and we bumped into Giuseppe.
00:54:13Really?
00:54:14That was LeBron.
00:54:15Beethoven.
00:54:26It's sad, how we get so lost.
00:54:32Go on.
00:54:35Because it's only by luck that you learn to love.
00:54:38You understand that, though.
00:54:44I'm lucky.
00:54:45Oh, the same.
00:54:47Knowing I could have missed that is frightening.
00:54:50Our meeting.
00:54:52You looked and you said, poor little ragdoll,
00:54:53and that was the first thing you said.
00:54:57And you might never have said it.
00:55:01I've forgotten.
00:55:04You have a good memory.
00:55:09Touch me, please.
00:55:10If you look at me, please.
00:55:11If you look at me.
00:55:12Touch me, please.
00:55:13You want me to be the first?
00:55:14You, I'm ready to go.
00:55:15I'm ready to go.
00:55:17Right?
00:55:18Do you know what I'm gonna go on?
00:55:19I'm going to do this.
00:55:21Do you know what you're going on?
00:55:23We're going to fall down, in the last week?
00:55:26Grazie.
00:55:56Grazie.
00:56:26Grazie.
00:56:36Grazie.
00:56:41Grazie.
00:56:49Grazie.
00:56:56La mia madre.
00:57:11Get out of this house.
00:57:12Catalina,
00:57:14let me explain.
00:57:15Nothing to blame, get out of this house, I said.
00:57:18But nothing's happened.
00:57:20We haven't done what you think.
00:57:22Fine.
00:57:24Fine.
00:57:24Of course, it was all a game, just kid stuff.
00:57:27I mean, hell, if you did nothing, if you never took your pants down.
00:57:30Listen to me.
00:57:33I'm not trying to excuse myself.
00:57:36I only know I love you.
00:57:37And you and I have got to remain the same.
00:57:43But this is evil.
00:57:45What you've done is evil.
00:57:47But why?
00:57:49Why, Graciela?
00:57:52My God, what's happening to me?
00:57:54What's happening?
00:57:57You've done this to a child of my own blood.
00:58:00Yet that meant very little, I imagine.
00:58:03Oh, God, how can I?
00:58:05I trusted you.
00:58:06All right, calm down.
00:58:08At least try it.
00:58:11We'll get nowhere if you go on like this.
00:58:13But I offered to love you, and it seemed right.
00:58:16All I, all I had.
00:58:20I didn't hold back.
00:58:22It was too much to keep inside.
00:58:24So much love for you.
00:58:25And yet I know it hasn't gone.
00:58:30Only it's confused so with loathing you and the sick feel of nausea.
00:58:36But I know it's here inside me.
00:58:39Because you can't expect love to go away in a second.
00:58:42It dies slowly.
00:58:43But it takes a while.
00:58:50And when it dies, whatever happens, I know.
00:58:55I'll feel only empty inside.
00:58:57Just empty death.
00:58:59All right, I promise to go away from here.
00:59:01Just empty death.
00:59:02But, please, I beg you.
00:59:05Forgive me, Gatini.
00:59:08You've got to forgive me.
00:59:10No, it's not that easy.
00:59:12No, that doesn't solve a thing.
00:59:14You can't get off that easy.
00:59:15My God, can't you keep it under control any longer?
00:59:18You bang it up there and you imagine everything's all right again?
00:59:21I love you just the same.
00:59:22You love an object, God damn it.
00:59:23You had the love of a woman, only it seems to have meant nothing.
00:59:27Meant nothing.
00:59:28It's all the same to you, isn't it?
00:59:31I'm only where you put it, whenever it gets cold, huh?
00:59:37Love.
00:59:38Being in love for you is using that.
00:59:40Only you don't understand.
00:59:42Whatever the hell it's for, love doesn't mean that.
00:59:44No, my dear sir, get that into your head.
00:59:47No, that's not all there is.
00:59:49No.
00:59:50No, it's more.
00:59:52I thought you realized that you knew what it means.
00:59:56But I couldn't have indented it all.
00:59:59You made a choice, so did I, because I needed you.
01:00:03I needed you.
01:00:05Oh, I...
01:00:06I know, of course.
01:00:09For the modern man, the word fidelity is out of use.
01:00:12But I trusted you entirely.
01:00:14And that's the one thing you ignored.
01:00:17You canceled everything.
01:00:18Just like that.
01:00:19But what's the use?
01:00:22What does it matter anymore?
01:00:23I'll get over this somehow.
01:00:25I'm old enough to take care of myself.
01:00:28But Gratella, no.
01:00:30Gratella, no.
01:00:33You see, I don't worry about me.
01:00:35But she...
01:00:36She's only a baby.
01:00:37She's got the right to be young, a little wild hooker.
01:00:41You have to spoil that, too.
01:00:43Another woman, that's easy.
01:00:45All right, I know.
01:00:45I understand.
01:00:47You took my daughter, though.
01:00:48How am I to forget that?
01:00:49A mere child.
01:00:50Can't you see that?
01:00:51Only a small child.
01:00:53I mean, is there a reason
01:00:54that your body demands the body of a baby?
01:00:57Because it's ever kept me in the same place.
01:00:59They suffer inside.
01:01:01Their minds, their hearts are open.
01:01:02Do you know what that means?
01:01:05She doesn't know what these things are.
01:01:07She's incapable of that.
01:01:08She's incapable.
01:01:09That's enough.
01:01:09She's only a baby.
01:01:10Can't you understand?
01:01:12There's time for her to learn.
01:01:13There's time for her to understand.
01:01:15There's time.
01:01:16There's time.
01:01:32Get dressed.
01:01:54You're going away.
01:01:56You don't want me to go to school?
01:01:58That's right.
01:01:59Not today.
01:02:00Where am I going?
01:02:00I'll stay with your aunt.
01:02:04At least until I find you a decent boarding school.
01:02:07I'm going to pee my pants.
01:02:12I'm not going away to any school.
01:02:16You're being nasty, that's all.
01:02:21I promise that I'll be good, Mama,
01:02:23but if I have to go away...
01:02:24But at Layla,
01:02:26I don't think you'll realize.
01:02:30I don't think you know what you've done, do you?
01:02:34I do.
01:02:34And I'm very sorry about it.
01:02:42I no longer feel I can count on this.
01:02:44Then you'll have to count on Giuseppe.
01:02:48Giuseppe has nothing to do with it.
01:02:50We're not speaking of Giuseppe.
01:02:51Giuseppe won't be coming back.
01:02:52You won't be seeing Giuseppe at all.
01:02:53Understand?
01:02:54You and I were talking about what happened last night.
01:02:56What you've done and what you've done to me.
01:02:58Do you have any idea?
01:03:00You're hurting me.
01:03:02Mama.
01:03:03Mama.
01:03:03Mama.
01:03:19That's it.
01:03:23Let's talk, huh?
01:03:25Let's talk a bit.
01:03:26Io, Graziella, io non voglio punirti.
01:03:36Non è questo che voglio.
01:03:39Ma quello che è successo è molto grave, sai.
01:03:44Molto grave.
01:03:50Se ci fosse tuo padre...
01:03:53Se ci fosse mio padre non ci sarebbe Giuseppe.
01:03:56È vero, è giusto, hai ragione.
01:04:06Ho sbagliato tutto.
01:04:08Tutto.
01:04:11Ma adesso riparerò.
01:04:14Adesso mi difenderò e difenderò anche te.
01:04:19A costo di soffrire.
01:04:22A costo di rimanere sola come un cane.
01:04:24A costo di mandarti via.
01:04:27Giuseppe non permetterà che tu mi mandi via.
01:04:41Giuseppe farà tutto quello che dico io.
01:04:44Non è vero.
01:04:45Se tu mi farai delle cattiverie, lui mi difenderà.
01:04:47Graziella.
01:04:51Ho fame.
01:04:52Posso farmi un caffè latte o no?
01:04:57Graziella.
01:05:23Graziella, ascolta.
01:05:35Ascolta, amore.
01:05:37Io non sono arrabbiata.
01:05:39Sono addolorata.
01:05:41E non solo per quello che pensi tu.
01:05:45Io...
01:05:46Vedi, io devo ragionare per te.
01:05:49Anche a costo di sembrarti cattiva.
01:05:52Mamma, senti, io...
01:05:54Ti giuro che sono pentita.
01:05:57Che non ti voglio più far soffrire.
01:05:59Che...
01:06:01Tutto può tornare come prima, mamma.
01:06:07Cosa intendi dire come prima?
01:06:11Cioè...
01:06:11No, come prima...
01:06:14Quando...
01:06:15Quando...
01:06:16Non era successo niente.
01:06:28Nothing to remain but the memory?
01:06:33No, it isn't as simple as that.
01:06:38It happened, that's all we must accept it.
01:06:40It's that simple?
01:06:41No.
01:06:42Not when there's suffering and agony.
01:06:47I think he should come back here right away.
01:06:50Come back here?
01:06:51What do you mean by that?
01:06:52You mean that he should stay here?
01:06:54I promise you nothing will happen.
01:06:56Please don't make me leave here or you wish you hadn't.
01:07:00Touch with each other.
01:07:02It's very easy to get letters to a friend.
01:07:06We'll see each other.
01:07:06You won't force me into anything.
01:07:10Sending me away isn't going to help, mamma.
01:07:13I thought you could be trusted alone again.
01:07:16You can't trust us.
01:07:24I mean it.
01:07:26I do.
01:07:27I swear I do.
01:07:33If you mean it.
01:07:36If you mean it, darling.
01:07:37Don't ever let me down.
01:07:43E lui?
01:07:53E lui?
01:07:57Lui deciderà come vuole.
01:08:02Vuoi un caffè?
01:08:03No.
01:08:10No, Grazie.
01:08:22Un gioco.
01:08:22Un gioco.
01:08:23Not to me.
01:08:24No, gioco.
01:08:25I only know that I'm in love with you.
01:08:28You're everything to me.
01:08:29But you're now suggesting something that is utterly stupid.
01:08:32Stupid, stupid.
01:08:33If we have to go on this way, on Graziella's terms,
01:08:35then let's forget everything.
01:08:36It's pointless.
01:08:37It can only destroy you and destroy her and destroy me.
01:08:40You're shouting, Giuseppe.
01:08:42You ought to have seen your face just now.
01:08:44But this is no solution.
01:08:45To me it makes no sense, Caterina.
01:08:47Fine, go ahead.
01:08:48Let's talk of sense.
01:08:49You've no more brains than a peacock.
01:08:51Do you think I wanted this?
01:08:53Not at all.
01:08:53I don't believe it at all.
01:08:56But it'll be worse without you.
01:08:58She'll suffer even more.
01:08:59This I know.
01:09:01This I know.
01:09:03And so we just forget about us.
01:09:05Is that it?
01:09:07Sure.
01:09:07Each go his own way.
01:09:09You can write the book.
01:09:10We have nothing left anymore.
01:09:14Don't be silly.
01:09:15I know that Mama knows that I see you here.
01:09:17I don't believe.
01:09:18It's very true.
01:09:19It's just that she realized what she'd rather not say.
01:09:22I tell you, she does know.
01:09:23And I don't care.
01:09:24Hey!
01:09:28Why don't you care?
01:09:30Because I feel my mother's a perfect knucklehead.
01:09:32You shouldn't talk like that.
01:09:33Then you still love my mother?
01:09:36Yes.
01:09:37Even more.
01:09:39And me.
01:09:40Do you love me more than her?
01:09:41It's not the same thing.
01:09:43I decided I don't want you to love anyone else.
01:09:47You gotta love only me.
01:09:48Better wait till you know what it means.
01:10:18It's not the same thing.
01:10:53Sulla Guinea
01:11:00Si può anche parlare, no?
01:11:04Come no?
01:12:24Stia tranquillo, caro
01:12:25Che ci darò una mano
01:12:26Ecco
01:12:29Tra me
01:12:31E Caterina non può più andare avanti così
01:12:34Ah
01:12:35La situazione per me è diventata insostenibile
01:12:39Ma ormai non mi interessa più
01:12:40Bravo, così bisogna fare
01:12:42Fregarsene
01:12:44È che le cose
01:12:48Si sono complicate
01:12:50Troppo
01:12:51E
01:12:53Per quanto ci abbia pensato su
01:12:55Mi creda
01:12:56Non mi resta che chiudere
01:12:59Ma vede, Luisa
01:13:01Vede
01:13:03È proprio questo che Caterina
01:13:05Si
01:13:06Si rifiuta di capire
01:13:09Lei pensa che non la ami più
01:13:10Ma benedetto Giuseppe
01:13:22Ma
01:13:22A chi sa lei
01:13:25Chi è che lo fa
01:13:26Senti Giuseppe
01:13:27Io non so niente
01:13:28Non ci capisco niente
01:13:29Non ci voglio capire niente
01:13:30E alla fine non me ne frega niente
01:13:32E non te ne deve fregare niente
01:13:33E poi scusa non è bello
01:13:34Che devo sapere le cose dagli altri
01:13:36Lasciami in pace
01:13:36I'm no prude, you know
01:13:38I mean debauchery
01:13:39In triangles, quadrangles, orgies
01:13:41I've done it all
01:13:41But
01:13:41But you're playing with a baby
01:13:43With a child
01:13:44You're being lover to them both
01:13:45It's immoral
01:13:46Immoral
01:13:47Absolutely wanton and depraved
01:13:49No, you listen
01:13:49You
01:13:50I know what I've done
01:13:51You might not understand me
01:13:53But I didn't expect you to
01:13:54You don't have to
01:13:55Only please don't judge me either
01:13:56I will answer for what I did
01:13:58All your indignation
01:13:59Is only worth this talk
01:14:00You're in that playboy
01:14:02Provincial morality
01:14:02You, you're joking
01:14:03Yes, I know
01:14:15I'm going out of my mind
01:14:18I tell you
01:14:18I can't take it
01:14:19I know, of course
01:14:22The simplest thing to do
01:14:23Is to go away
01:14:23I haven't got that kind of courage
01:14:25But what I worry
01:14:26Frankly
01:14:27Haven't gotten into my head yet
01:14:28I don't matter how hard I try
01:14:30I can't understand how you
01:14:33Are someone as innately intelligent as you
01:14:36How could you ever get entangled
01:14:38In the situation of this kind?
01:14:40I don't understand it either
01:14:41That's the whole point
01:14:42I find that after living
01:14:44As I've lived all these years
01:14:45I've probably lost
01:14:46All the good sense I have
01:14:48So by the time I realize
01:14:49That I'd have myself
01:14:50Become a child's toy
01:14:51It's too late
01:14:52Graziella isn't going to suffer
01:14:54Well, she was only play-acting anyway
01:14:56But I told you the truth
01:14:57I love Katarina
01:14:59I want her to believe me
01:15:01God
01:15:03I don't know what I'm doing
01:15:07Do you understand?
01:15:09I don't know what to do
01:15:10I don't know what to do
01:15:12I don't know what to do
01:15:13I don't know what to do
01:15:14I don't know what to do
01:15:15I don't know what to do
01:15:16I don't know what to do
01:15:17I don't know what to do
01:15:18I don't know what to do
01:15:19I don't know what to do
01:15:20I don't know what to do
01:15:21I don't know what to do
01:15:22I don't know what to do
01:15:23I don't know what to do
01:15:24I don't know what to do
01:15:25I don't know what to do
01:15:26I don't know what to do
01:15:27I don't know what to do
01:15:28I don't know what to do
01:15:29I don't know what to do
01:15:30I don't know what to do
01:15:31I don't know what to do
01:15:32I don't know what to do
01:15:33I don't know what to do
01:15:34I don't know what to do
01:15:35I don't know what to do
01:15:36E' rifiutato, io contemplando
01:15:45Le passo di la notte, sino a giorno
01:15:53Perché io non posso ora più dormire
01:15:59Pagino nabicchio, sta pritufori
01:16:09Sai quando caio, tayo alla sari
01:16:16Quando la vita mia finisce mori
01:16:23Sai quando caio, tayo alla sari
01:16:31Quando la vita mia finisce mori
01:16:38I don't care what you do, but I will not see her in agony
01:16:44Graziella, no, not her
01:16:46I don't believe she is, she's a young girl after all
01:16:50They suffer no more, forget about this bit of dramatics
01:16:53How do you know?
01:16:54They're not tough inside, they suffer and horribly
01:16:57As a matter of fact, she's hardly a child anymore, thanks, thanks again
01:17:00What do you want from me, just to go on fighting?
01:17:02I want you to continue to see her, call her and ask her if she's all right
01:17:06Don't let her think you don't want to see her, don't always neglect her
01:17:09You're the one I miss
01:17:14I don't want to talk about her
01:17:18There's nothing more
01:17:20What would you do with the pieces?
01:17:22A woman demoralized, without the respect of her own child
01:17:28I deserve it, I admit that
01:17:31It's all your imagination, I'm certain of that, why worry?
01:17:33I've lost her
01:17:34I've lost her
01:17:35But you're wrong, you feel that
01:17:36No, Giuseppe
01:17:37Don't you think I know?
01:17:39I don't know how I'm going to regain it
01:17:41But yet all this is proof to mean much more than that
01:17:44I know no one's as guilty as I because I deluded myself
01:17:48But you're wrong, wrong, wrong, you're not responsible, not in any way
01:17:51You're saying that isn't going to help me
01:17:54Spare me your charitable manner
01:17:55Why should you make my excuses?
01:18:01Listen, Giuseppe, I only ask you to do this
01:18:04Be nice to Graziella, that's all, be nice to her
01:18:07You don't sacrifice anything, you owe her that much
01:18:10Even if it's a lie, don't let her feel you want to avoid her
01:18:13You've got to make her feel that she matters to you, that she means something to you, please
01:18:16To me that's useless, hopeless, to put an end to her, to be sure of the simplest way
01:18:22Can't we be honest?
01:18:24God, how you talk
01:18:26Could you explain yourself better?
01:18:29Oh, I see you're being honest, cause it suits you
01:18:31It's got there in some time
01:18:32You ended it
01:18:34I got my notice by messenger
01:18:36You imagine by sending Louisa you can ease and soften my pain, that's amusing
01:18:40And happily we end the story
01:18:43Well it was nice, pity it's ended, bravo, molto bravo
01:18:47The man offers condolences a dozen roses and on he goes, huh?
01:18:51So that's why we're here
01:18:53You told me to meet you
01:18:55But you didn't make that clear
01:18:57I thought you came to talk about Graziella, forgive me

01:19:16Would you ever call me, Nick?

01:21:15Giuseppe doesn't care about you.
01:21:16He can't.
01:21:17He doesn't mean anything to you.
01:21:19What did you do it for?
01:21:22I've been hoping to test this guy,
01:21:23but that can't affect you.
01:21:25He was fun, but thankfully a bit old-fashioned.
01:21:27Anyway, he was your mother's lover before
01:21:28and you didn't seem to care about that.
01:21:30You didn't know anything about it.
01:21:32Giuseppe loves me alone.
01:21:33Giuseppe loves me.
01:21:36He's mine.
01:21:39She really made a scene.
01:21:42Really belted it to Hong Kong.
01:21:44Giuseppe's mine.
01:21:45I don't want to hurt her anymore.
01:21:47Don't worry.
01:21:49She'll get over it.
01:21:51What do you care anyway?
01:21:52It's about time she grew up.
01:21:53Let's pray.
01:21:59Bye for now.
01:22:08Grazie a tutti.
01:22:38Grazie a tutti.
01:23:08Grazie a tutti.
01:23:38A te vuole bene, te l'ha detto.
01:23:40Non devi più pensare a lui e nemmeno io.
01:23:42Dobbiamo dimenticarlo.
01:23:43Tu sei grande, riprenditelo tu.

01:23:47Tu sei grande.
