‘We Will Not Be Paralyzed’: Rashida Tlaib Rallies For Civic Engagement In District Of John James

During a town hall event on Tuesday, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) called for civic engagement in the district of Rep. John James (R-MI).

00:00Now, you all are amazing.

00:14You know, fighting fascism takes 24-7 and it comes together, resistance, it grows hard

00:19and inspires again.

00:21This moment right now that we will not stand still and be paralyzed with the amount of

00:27fear and anxiety that many of you have.

00:29You're showing up, you're fighting back, and you're saying to the person that you elected

00:33or was elected for your community, again, you should show up.

00:38You have questions that have neat answers.

00:41And so I'm really proud.

00:43When I met Katrina, I totally, we were just in, you know, I saw that there was a protest

00:48in front of Congressman John Jay's district office, and I just showed up.

00:53I didn't tell everybody I was coming because I needed to do it too.

00:55Because there's three or four Republicans that we need.

00:59Only three or four.

01:00And if Michigan can do something, we can organize our backyard and deliver at least one.

01:04And that could be Congressman John Jayne.
