00:00There is much reason to believe of China's efforts to meddle in our democratic exercises

00:05with the discovery and revelation of pieces of evidence of Chou Farm sponsored and paid for

00:11by the Chinese government to promote anti-government candidates win their campaigns.

00:16Senate Majority Floor Leader Francis Tolentino, who is seeking re-election today,

00:20bared a homegrown company in cahoots with a Chinese embassy.

00:24Out on a smear campaign against certain candidates, as our Daniel Manalastas reports.

00:30The National Security Council uncovered during the Senate panel's hearing

00:36a possible clear indication China may be interfering in the 2025 elections.

00:43The NSC confirmed there is proof of China probably supporting some election candidates.

00:48So ang ibig sabihin nito, may mga ongoing operations on China para suportahan yung mga kandidatong gusto nilang manalo.

00:56Yun, yun ang diretsyon tanong ko. At kontrahin naman yung mga kandidatong ayaw nilang manalo.

01:02It is, um, there are indications, Mr. Chairman, that information operations are being conducted

01:08that are Chinese state-sponsored in the Philippines and are actually interfering in the forthcoming elections.

01:15The NSC confirmed having identified the alleged candidates who are likely receiving support and money from China.

01:23Well, it's possible. Kanina nga nakita natin may cheque pang ipinakita.

01:26So we have seen that. That's one of the tricks of the trade.

01:31So it's perfectly possible na may pera ding involved dito.

01:34Aside from this, the NSC also revealed information about local proxies,

01:40or what they described as individuals who amplify and echo China's narratives.

01:45Mostly influencers. Some of them are here. Some of them are based in China.

01:50Nag-aaral doon. They are on a scholarship there in China.

01:54So fully paid by the Chinese state. But they continue to operate.

01:58Alam nyo naman ang social media. You can be in another country and yet do your thing here.

02:02Pero Pinoy. Pinoy. Yes, they're Filipino citizens, but they are doing this at the behest of the PRC.

02:09For example, the balikatan exercises are happening right now.

02:12So you will see narratives coming from Beijing that the balikatan exercises is a threat to regional peace and stability.

02:20And you'll also hear that kind of statement coming from local proxies who follow the script coming from Beijing.

02:28Sen. Francis Solundino, meanwhile, bared a possible link between the Chinese embassy and alleged troll farms,

02:35as he revealed a certain corporation in the Philippines which has a deal with the Chinese embassy in the Philippines.

02:42These troll farms are believed to attack individuals and discrediting them.

02:46Makikita nyo ito, makikita nyo po ito na nagbayad ang embassy ng China,

02:55nagbayad ang embassy ng China sa Infinitus Marketing Solutions ng 930,000 pesos.

03:04Ang bank ko, Bank of China, Bank of China for the activities mentioned in the contract, in the service contract.

03:16So ito ay nagpapatunay na itong checking ito, dated 2023, ay for services rendered doon sa contract ng Invictus,

03:32which is Infinitus, which is a Filipino registered.

03:37Ito pong kontrata at kabayarang ito ay pagyurak sa dignidad ng mga Pilipino.

03:44Pagyapak sa dignidad ng Pilipinas.
