00:00On top of the news, managing close to 70 million eager and energized individuals of all ages and sizes to reenact democracy's most sacred exercise is by no means of simple feat.
00:13Still, the Kamalak has to thank the tens of thousands of teachers and volunteers who helped administer the vote process and the cops and soldiers who kept it fair, safe and under control.
00:25And an awestruck and thankful president gave them their flowers and dew as we hear more from our Kenneth Paciente.
00:34President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. expressed his gratitude to all Filipinos who participated in the recent national and local elections.
00:42He considered the peaceful and orderly conduct of the elections a triumph for democracy, reflecting order, honor, and national unity.
00:49The president emphasized that the results of the election symbolizes the people's desire for officials who care and are ready to address the country's main challenges, such as inflation, unemployment, corruption, and other burdens of ordinary Filipinos.
01:04He also thanked those who supported the administration's candidates under the Alianza para sa Bagong Pilipinas.
01:09Although not all alliance candidates won, the president assured that their advocacy and mission for change will continue.
01:15The president also praised the candidates who did not win, saying that public service does not end with elections.
01:22He stressed that their courage and willingness to serve remain vital, regardless of the outcome.
01:27The chief executive called for unity and cooperation among the newly elected officials, regardless of their party or coalition.
01:34He said governance is a collective responsibility that must be guided by a common and sincere goal, the welfare of the majority.
01:40Based on the partial and unofficial tally of the election, six administration senatorial bets made it to the magic 12.
01:48Among them are ACT-CIS Partylist Representative and Deputy Majority Leader Erwin Tulfo, former Senators Ping Laxon and Tito Soto,
01:55re-electionist Pia Cayetano, Las Piñas Representative Camille Villar, and former Senators Lito Lapid.
02:02Yesterday, the president voted early in Batak, Ilocos, Norte.
02:05Together with former First Lady Imelda Marcos and his sister Irene Marcos Araneta.
02:11Meanwhile, First Lady Lisa Marcos and presidential sons Vinnie Simon and Ilocos First District Representative Sandro Marcos voted in Calayab, Lawag.
