Robin Hood
00:06
Long, long ago in Nottingham, England, there was a king named Richard.
00:14
King Richard was a wise and generous king.
00:18
The town of Nottingham loved their king.
00:21
The kingdom was rich and prosperous.
00:23
But one day, when King Richard was traveling to another town, his ship was lost at sea.
00:30
Days, months passed, but no news of the king or his ship came.
00:35
The town mourned for their beloved king.
00:38
In King Richard's absence, his younger brother, King John, was made to sit on the throne.
00:44
But King John was nothing like his elder brother.
00:48
He increased the taxes and took all the money from the poor.
00:52
The town started to become poorer and poorer with each passing day.
00:58
Nottingham had lost its hope.
01:00
But, as they say, with every injustice, a hero is born.
01:06
This is the story of such a man, Robin Hood.
01:11
Robin Hood was a young boy who lived in the Sherwood Forest near Nottingham.
01:16
He had a group of friends called the Merry Men.
01:18
After watching the injustice done by King John, Robin took it upon himself to help his people.
01:26
He used to rob the royal carriages to steal from the king.
01:30
He and his men would then distribute the stolen wealth back to the poor people.
01:35
Every time a royal carriage passed the forest, Robin and his merry men would appear out of nowhere.
01:42
Oh, I hope Robin Hood is very, very sleepy today.
01:48
I hope he doesn't hear me passing this forest.
01:52
Shh, Tony!
01:53
Why are you making so much noise?
01:56
Slow down!
01:58
Uh, but, sir, how can I ask the horses to walk slow?
02:04
Robin Hood can also hear our footsteps.
02:06
We are walking on land, sir.
02:09
It cannot be noiseless.
02:12
Oh, shut up!
02:13
But the minister was right.
02:16
Robin and his merry men could hear all.
02:19
And suddenly...
02:21
Oh, no!
02:23
Thief!
02:23
Thief!
02:25
I am not a thief.
02:27
You are.
02:28
This is poor people's money, not yours.
02:31
Go and tell your king.
02:32
People of Sherwood are not alone.
02:34
Come on, let's get moving.
02:50
Thank God for Robin Hood, Jasmine.
02:53
We owe our lives to him.
02:56
Robin Hood?
02:57
Sheriff, do you want to keep your job or not?
03:02
He has done it again.
03:04
All our money and gold is gone.
03:08
That Goon has done it again.
03:10
I want him arrested right now.
03:14
We...
03:15
We have tried, your highness.
03:17
Multiple times.
03:19
But they just disappear.
03:22
Are you saying you cannot do this then?
03:26
No, I will do it.
03:28
I will arrest Robin Hood.
03:30
He is my enemy.
03:31
Give me one more chance, your highness.
03:33
Do whatever you have to.
03:37
I don't care.
03:38
I want him arrested.
03:41
The sheriff was furious.
03:43
He decided to lay down a trap for Robin.
03:47
The sheriff knew that there was only one way to make Robin Hood come to the palace himself.
03:53
The only way, Lady Marion.
03:56
Lady Marion was King Richard's niece.
03:58
She was a beautiful and strong woman.
04:02
Robin once spotted Lady Marion as she crossed the Sherwood Forest in her carriage.
04:07
Robin attacked the carriage, assuming it could be the king's treasures.
04:11
But as soon as he saw Lady Marion, he could not believe his eyes.
04:17
He dropped his sword and kneeled down in front of Utter Beauty.
04:24
I am...
04:25
I...
04:26
Who are you?
04:28
It was love at first sight for Marion too.
04:33
I am Marion.
04:35
Are...
04:36
Are you Robin Hood?
04:38
Guilty as charged.
04:45
Robin, have you heard?
04:47
The sheriff is organizing an archery contest.
04:51
The winner gets to marry Lady Marion.
04:55
Ha ha ha!
04:56
The sheriff is so stupid.
04:59
This is obviously a trap.
05:01
Everybody knows that Robin Hood is the best archer.
05:05
We are not going.
05:06
Right, Robin?
05:08
But Robin wasn't listening to Tuck.
05:12
Did you say Lady Marion, Little John?
05:15
The best archer gets to marry the beautiful Lady Marion.
05:19
No, Robin.
05:20
They will arrest you if we go to the castle.
05:24
But how will they recognize us?
05:27
I will disguise myself.
05:29
Oh, boy.
05:31
Wait a minute.
05:32
I will not let you go alone.
05:34
I will disguise myself as the Duke of Chutney so that I can get near King John.
05:41
As decided, they both were at the gates of the castle.
05:45
Nobody recognized them.
05:46
Except for...
05:48
You are Robin Hood.
05:52
But why are you hissing, sir?
05:54
Wait.
05:55
Aren't you King John's assistant?
05:58
Wait.
05:58
What's your name?
05:59
Ah, yes.
06:01
Sir Hiss.
06:05
Laugh all you want.
06:06
I will have both of you arrested right now.
06:09
Guards.
06:10
Guards.
06:13
But Sir Hiss was immediately put into the barrel of ale.
06:18
Now you are not just Sir Hiss.
06:21
You have been promoted to Sir Hiss ale.
06:23
Did you get that, Robin?
06:26
Hiss and ale.
06:28
Shh.
06:28
Quiet, John.
06:30
Let's go.
06:31
No.
06:32
Wait.
06:34
Guards.
06:35
Soon it was Robin's turn to raise his bow.
06:38
He shot three arrows one after another and the crowd was shocked.
06:43
All the three arrows had hit the center.
06:46
The crowd cheered for this brilliant archer.
06:50
Robin took his hood off and began to look for his Lady Marion.
06:53
But just then, arrest him.
06:57
That's Robin Hood.
06:59
Ha ha ha.
07:00
Caught you at last.
07:03
But Robin was not scared.
07:05
He knew his merry men very well.
07:08
Not so soon, Sheriff.
07:10
Let Robin go or I'll say goodbye to your beloved King John.
07:15
Oh, no.
07:17
Let them go.
07:19
Let them go.
07:20
Sheriff, I don't want to die.
07:24
The soldiers immediately released Robin.
07:27
Robin and little John headed towards the gate.
07:30
On their way out, Robin saw Lady Marion.
07:33
Marion!
07:35
I will come for you.
07:37
Wait for me.
07:38
Always, Robin.
07:41
Always.
07:43
Once in the forest, the merry men and Robin began to plan on how to get Lady Marion again.
07:50
Just then, a boy from the village came running to Robin.
07:54
Robin, they are arresting my father.
07:57
Robin Hood.
07:58
What?
07:58
Come on.
08:00
Let's go.
08:02
Robin and his merry men rode towards the village and saw that the villagers were in a fight with
08:07
the soldiers.
08:08
It is the king's order.
08:10
He has tripled your taxes.
08:12
If you can't pay, then I have to arrest you.
08:15
Go thank your Robin Hood.
08:17
He angered the king, and now you have to pay for it.
08:21
Robin Hood is a good man.
08:23
He cares for us.
08:24
Unlike your selfish king, he is a cruel man.
08:27
How dare you?
08:29
Arrest him!
08:30
No!
08:31
Wait.
08:32
It's me you are looking for.
08:34
Leave these people.
08:36
No, Robin.
08:37
We don't want to go.
08:38
Run away!
08:40
No.
08:41
Let them arrest me.
08:44
Robin, what are you doing?
08:47
I may be stealing for a good cause, but it is still stealing.
08:50
I don't want the children of this village to follow this route.
08:53
You must all stand together and fight.
08:58
That is the only way.
09:00
Farewell, my men.
09:02
I shall see you soon.
09:04
The villagers were sad to have their hero leave, but the merry men were not going to
09:09
give up on their leader.
09:10
They followed the carriage from inside the mountains so that the soldiers don't see them.
09:17
Ah-ha-ha!
09:18
Ah-ha-ha!
09:18
The mighty Robin Hood!
09:21
The protector of the poor!
09:22
The provider!
09:24
Nonsense!
09:25
You are a thief!
09:27
A goon!
09:28
A dacoit!
09:29
And what are you, your highness?
09:32
You steal from the poor.
09:34
Where does the tax money go?
09:36
What is your palace doing with it?
09:38
Just because you sit on that throne does not mean you steal poor people's money.
09:43
I am not a thief.
09:45
The money I take belongs to my people.
09:47
I return to them what is rightfully theirs.
09:50
Let our highness, King Richard, return.
09:54
He will see what to do with you.
09:57
Quiet!
09:58
Throw him into the dungeons!
10:01
The town of Nottingham was now in true danger.
10:05
Their savior was captured.
10:07
But will the merry men let King John win?
10:11
Tuck, what are you doing?
10:14
Shh!
10:14
Shhh!
10:20
Fire!
10:20
Fire!
10:21
Run!
10:22
Save yourselves!
10:24
Robin, come fast!
10:26
The castle is on fire!
10:28
Why do you want to help me?
10:30
I don't like King John either.
10:32
I was wrong about him.
10:34
Let's go!
10:36
Robin didn't trust the sheriff, but he had to escape the castle.
10:40
He followed the sheriff to the roof.
10:42
What now?
10:44
Now I win.
10:46
Ha ha ha!
10:47
Where will you go now, Robin?
10:49
The water down is deep, and there are archers everywhere.
10:54
I knew you were not to be trusted, sheriff.
10:57
Goodbye!
11:02
Ha ha ha!
11:04
How stupid!
11:05
He will never survive this.
11:07
But Robin Hood survived.
11:10
He swam through the canals and got out from the river in the forest.
11:15
Oh!
11:16
I hope my men are all fine.
11:19
But back at the castle, something unexpected happened.
11:22
King Richard had returned to his kingdom.
11:26
After the fire was put out, the town of Nottingham had gathered in the castle to complain about King John and the sheriff.
11:33
I apologize to my people.
11:37
This will not be tolerated.
11:39
You have disappointed me, John, King John, Sir Hiss, and Sheriff to be arrested immediately.
11:48
No, your highness.
11:50
Please!
11:52
Oh, shut up.
11:53
There is a reason why your name is Hiss.
11:56
I command to release the Merry Men and take back all the charges on Robin Hood.
12:03
In fact, a brave man like him should be rewarded.
12:07
Bring him to the castle with honor.
12:11
Yay!
12:11
Yay!
12:12
Woo-hoo!
12:12
Way to go, Robin!
12:14
Yay!
12:15
Yay!
12:16
Woo-hoo!
12:16
King Richard soon realized that Lady Marion was in love with Robin Hood and wished to marry him.
12:23
King Richard liked Robin Hood.
12:25
He was more than happy to get his niece married to a noble man.
12:30
Nottingham rejoiced as their hero was respected and rewarded.
12:35
Robin Hood lived with Lady Marion in the forest of Sherwood.
12:39
They were happy with their simple lives.
12:42
They danced and sang songs with the people of Nottingham.
12:46
Robin Hood and the Merry Men never stole again.
