00:01Once upon a time in a beautiful forest called Sunny Hollow,

00:12all the animals were excited for the Great Forest Race.

00:16This year, the prize was the special golden carrot.

00:19Known to be the yummiest, crunchiest carrot in the whole forest,

00:24Willow the tortoise wanted to win it more than anything.

00:27Flash was a celebrity in Sunny Hollow.

00:31With his lightning speed and his knack for showing off,

00:34he loved being the centre of attention.

00:37This race will be over in a flash just like me, he laughed.

00:42Willow, on the other hand, was quiet and thoughtful.

00:46She didn't mind that she was slower.

00:48She had trained hard, but her real strength was her patience.

00:53She didn't believe in rushing.

00:54She believed in reaching the finish line, one steady step at a time.

01:00When the race began, Flash bolted down the path like lightning.

01:04He raced so fast that the wind whistled through his ears.

01:08After a few minutes, he looked back and saw no one in sight.

01:12He laughed.

01:13Ha ha ha ha!

01:14I'm so far ahead, I can take a break, he said.

01:18He spotted some juicy blueberries and stopped to snack.

01:21This is easy, he said, munching happily.

01:27Willow, on the other hand, moved slow and steady.

01:30She greeted the chipmunks and waved to the squirrels who cheered her on.

01:35She didn't slow down.

01:36She had her eyes set on that golden carrot and kept moving forward, one step at a time.

01:43Meanwhile, Flash finished his snack and heard lively music.

01:47He saw the animals having a dance-off under a tree and grinned.

02:50Oh no! he grumbled, trying to wiggle free.

02:54Back on the path, Willow trotted on, focused and determined one step at a time.

03:00The sun began to dip lower, painting the sky with warm oranges and purples.

03:08Suddenly, Flash realised how long he'd been dancing.

03:12Oh no! he gasped, racing back to the path.

03:15He ran as fast as he could, but when he reached the final bend, his heart sank.

03:20Willow was already crossing the finish line, smiling as she won the golden carrot.

03:26The crowd cheered for Willow.

03:28Woohoo! Congratulations, Willow!

03:31Flash skidded to a stop.

03:33Wow, Willow, you really did it! he said, catching his breath.

03:39Willow nodded, smiling shyly.

03:41Sometimes, slow and steady wins the race, she said.

03:45One by one, the other animals crossed the finish line too.

03:51Pip croaked, next time I'll save the splashing for after I win.

03:56Rusty grinned, holding up his shiny stone.

03:59And maybe I'll keep my eyes on the path instead of treasure hunting.
