One of The Queen's ravens has died according the The Crown's "very British" spokesperson.

00:00All right, so this is a little bit offbeat, but the Tower of London, we visited that when we went to England a couple of years ago.

00:08The Tower of London's Queen Raven is missing and feared dead, according to the staff at the fortress.

00:16So apparently they keep this flock of ravens there.

00:20And I remember being there and saying they're huge.

00:22They're these big black birds.

00:23I remember seeing them.

00:24Yeah, yeah.

00:24I just thought they were, that's why they just kind of, you know, flew in and hung out.

00:35The Tower usually has six ravens at any time.

00:38And according to legend, if they ever leave, then both the fortress and the kingdom will fall.

00:50A spokesman said Marlena's continued absence indicates to us that she may have sadly passed away.

02:32By the way, if you do want to see The Crown Jewels, my only one-time visit there, my recommendation,

02:36we got as soon as it opened.

02:39And there was nobody there.

02:42We looked at out in front of where The Crown Jewels are is one of those back-and-forth switchback

02:50And, you know, you could just by walking through that, we're like, okay, this could take forever

02:55on a busy day.

02:56But we got right in.

02:57It was very impressive.

02:59So I thought that was pretty cool.

03:02The Raven Master, Christopher Scaife, said that he would be taking some time to mourn Merlina.

03:09Tower staff added that they had no immediate plans to replace her.

03:14And Charles is believed to have been the first monarch to officially decree that the birds

03:21must be kept at the tower at all times.

03:25Oh, apparently when numbers fell to just a single Raven guard, Winston Churchill had ordered

03:31that the flock, which is known as an unkindness, that's a flock of ravens.
