00:00CSI Keisha Head joined the Frankfort Police Department just one year ago.

00:05Beyond crime scene investigation, a large part of her job is education.

00:10She's given cyber safety presentations at schools throughout the counties surrounding the Frankfort area.

00:15But last week, that presentation led to a disclosure from a minor and the arrest of a teacher.

00:20I spoke with CSI Head and Frankfort Police Chief Scott Shoemaker on the phone.

00:24Head uses resources from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children when she goes into the schools.

00:29She said the goal is to give one child the tools and confidence to report.

00:34And that empowering one child can empower others to come forward as well.

00:38In her presentation, she teaches students the importance of having a trusted adult,

00:43or someone they feel safe and comfortable talking to if someone is being unsafe with them.

00:49300 million children were victims of predatory online behavior just in the last year, a study found.

00:55Head said cyber safety comes down to education, not just for children, but for parents too.

01:02Parents often get cell phones for their kids as a safety measure, but it's also a safety hazard.

01:09Chief Shoemaker said when it comes to your child's safety, you can't always be their friend.

01:14If you're seeing names you don't recognize or contacts with odd nicknames communicating with your child,

01:19he said that's the time to take the phone and know what's going on in your child's digital life.
