00:10miles an hour but i you know i gotta tell you like that worries me man like the guys that are

00:15throwing that hard like ben joyce like hunter green i just i'm constantly looking and wondering

00:21to myself am i doing the right thing holding a player like this am i overvaluing a player like

00:27this because in this day and age you see the cy young award possibilities there on our board there

00:32i mean i hate to say it but out of those 10 guys i know we're going to lose like three or four of

00:36them just based on the way that we're developing pitchers at the big league level yeah no i i agree

00:44you know actually in the uh in the preseason i was sort of i was warning people that you know like

00:49if you look back at the velocity leaders for 2023 it is just a absolute it's it's a mess of people who

01:01needed tommy john surgery or just never were the same you know the big names are like spencer strider

01:08and then like a guy who pitched earlier this week bobby miller he had like the top velocity in 2023 and

01:16and now he just doesn't look right so like when you bring up hunter green or even i mean i don't

01:23want to say the name but paul skeins i mean some of these guys they throw so hard but you gotta wonder

01:30how long can they throw that hard like it's such a rare thing to be able to you know put that kind

01:37of effort on your arm for a long period of time so and also hunter green actually had some arm issues

01:44last year um so yeah i i don't know i i actually i probably would be selling a bit if you're able to

01:52get you know at least what his value is right now i mean i wouldn't be selling low by any means but

01:59if i was looking to trade hunter green i'd probably want like you know a number one outfielder or a number

02:06one corner man or something you know worthwhile otherwise you got to ride it out and see hopefully

02:12that he does stay healthy but yeah yeah it's not it's not a great thing when you look at like some

02:19of the past velocity leaders for uh you know the major leagues so on the flip side of that are there

02:25players that aren't throwing as hard that you're still either invested in or looking to be invested

02:31in maybe buy low because you do think they will have that you know season-long sustainability to you

02:37give you the innings every week yeah no that's a good question you know there's actually a guy

02:43uh in san diego michael king his uh i think he tops out at like 93 miles per hour not super hard

02:52for hour but i mean we saw last year he had a great year i would say if he could stay on the mound

02:58and keep pitching as he's been doing and there's no reason to think he won't i i like michael king a lot

03:04there's also you know other guys like uh you look at like chris sale was able to pull it together

03:11last year he has uh you know his velocity looks fine uh tanner bb's velocity looks fine those are

03:19some buy lows because they are not pitching well so far but if you can get them at a discount i would

03:25look possibly of getting also zach galen is uh his era looks bad but i mean he's pitching okay uh nick

03:33ladolo uh looks fine his his velocity looks okay he's also not pitching well according to his era but

03:41if i mean excuse me ladolo actually is pitching well according to his era but galen isn't uh uh who

03:48else brandon fat is uh pitching well uh is only throwing like 93 miles per hour but that's fine if

03:55it keeps them on the field it keeps them healthy joe ryan's throwing around 92 93 miles per hour

04:02again if it's you know enough to get the results he's getting go for it
