Reaction to Blackpool's victory over Stevenage

00:09I'm going to be brutally honest, I thought he was poor in the first half.

00:12I thought he'd give the ball away in particular and just remind him at half-time.

00:17All week he's looked as sharp as a tack and never give the ball away once.

00:20So second half, he's got a hat-trick, which he'll always remember,

00:25scoring a hat-trick at Stevenage. Good for him.

00:27After picking him out so early on in your time, he must be pleased with the way he's developed.

00:30Yeah, he's used a lot. I bet he's played as many minutes as anybody, really.

00:36Which, as a young kid, is terrific.

00:39The game was probably crying out for a bit of quality.

00:41You and Fletch were all of that.

00:42So you're just sort of about getting in there and thinking we need to make most of these opportunities.

00:47Yeah, I think at half-time, you know, the half of the sentences aren't good enough.

00:50You know, when we were in the first half, we were terrible, to be honest.

00:52We just, in particular myself, we couldn't really do much.

00:55Second half, we had to come out and change things, and I think we certainly did that.

00:59Especially in the first 20 minutes, that's second half.

01:01Before today, the Lamech Stadium, Stevenage, probably won't have been much.

01:05You probably didn't think it was going to be a special place to you,

01:06but now, is it a special place in your heart for what you've done here today?

01:10Yeah, definitely. I think I've come here last year as well, and I think I've scored there.

01:13That was my first professional goal, so I've done that here last year,

01:17and then done it again this year, so I'm made up.

01:19Yeah, happy place for you then?

01:20Yeah, 100%, yeah.

01:21Rob, after Hatchery, it must sound really good when, obviously, you see that in the paper,

01:25or see it online, just seeing those words altogether.

01:27Oh, yeah, definitely. I've seen it.

01:29Just stays with me when I look at my phone, and, you know, couldn't be happier, I think.

01:31Just a proud moment for myself, for my family, really, to see how far I've come.

01:34What's the plan for that match ball?

01:36Oh, probably keep it somewhere in the house, I don't know, yeah, but we'll have a little look.

01:58Does this sort of showcase what you are about, and that, you know, you can do it at this level?

02:02Yeah, definitely, I think, to be fair, in my own mind, I probably could have done a lot better,

02:06than what I've done, in my goals and assists, I think I probably could have done a lot better, to be honest.

02:12For me, I'm a big kid, and myself, I hope it's a big picture to keep going.

02:24We had two big chances first half, big chances.

02:27I expected there for where you rolled onto that one, 18-yard box, I expected that to hit, then, then,

02:31and then Rob had a chance in the first half, but we didn't play well enough.

02:35We didn't play with the intensity where we know we can.

02:38Once we get to a level of intensity, then we're a very decent team.

02:41come off and like we did first half then you know there wasn't enough intensity about a play we didn't

02:47pass it well enough we didn't keep the ball well we didn't get after it well enough

02:51second half totally different once we scored well there's a message at half time you know

02:55time's running out we need to do something it was uh i'm never going to repeat what's

03:00happened in there in dressing rooms but there was a few words said let's put it that way

03:04and obviously reaction must be delighted i'm delighted with the reaction look you can't

03:07keep losing your temper at my age very often but i i wasn't happy i wasn't happy with our first

03:13half performance it reminded me too much of rotherham so um good to see them have a reaction

03:18and have a bit of spark about them because when we play the way we've done there

03:22then we're a handful for any team in this division
