Woman sold home to travel world full-time in truck after dad's unexpected death

Ashley Kay, 36, lost her dad, Tom, 57, in December 2015.  After her loss, friends and family shared stories about her dad's travels with her and it inspired Ashley to see more of the world.   Ashley bought a $44k Toyota Tacoma van to live in, and sold her three-bedroom house in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  She spent three years travelling around French Polynesia, Mexico, South Africa and Europe, before heading home to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, US.

00:41vet visits medications lots of rest it wasn't enough my baby boy had liver cancer and it was

00:48spreading fast after two months of fighting he refused to eat or drink it was his time

00:53i left my truck in colombia wondering will i go back because how can i without him without an

01:00answer i returned and now i'm here alone figuring it out it's the best part of travel most people

01:10gentlemen who showed up at sunset were so interested in my story my adventure they gave me a lot of

01:16recommendations about their home country and then brought out a guitar and played music in the

01:20canyons one week later one of the gentlemen found me on tiktok and he writes to me and gives me

01:26recommendations every time i post this video these tour guides that show up every day at 10 a.m

01:31sometimes they bring me fresh mangoes they always make sure i have plenty of water i'm safe and we have

01:36fun with pictures and then these guys they showed up randomly invited me down into the canyon they were

01:42doing photos and videos for tourism of peru i got to be a little free wild child barefoot

01:49climbing around in the canyon having such a great time it was totally unexpected and very kind of them

01:56to include me and then these guys and girls who showed up out of nowhere on a sunday afternoon
