Dave & Chuck the Freak talk about a woman who unknowingly hit her father-in-law with her car at a crosswalk and wonder if any listeners have accidentally hit their family members with a vehicle.

00:00all right this family's dinners are going to be awkward uh back in february of last year

00:13a 29 year old woman named uh fathia abedin was driving in the uk she was on her phone

00:20she accidentally hit someone in a crosswalk and took off oh sped away from the scene but

00:28she was on her phone she was on her phone didn't realize it at the time the person she hit

00:35her 61 year old father-in-law oh no she hit her father-in-law oh my god and you hit and run that

00:48is awkward yes oh my god welcome to thanksgiving well then like you're covering it up oh this is

00:54bad maybe i should you killed her she killed her no have we talked about have you hit a family

00:59member with your car it's probably never come up i don't think i think it's pretty rare like have

01:04you run over a family member oh have you run that didn't end in fatality that didn't end in death

01:37um she was in court this week and her family was there including her father-in-law he actually even

01:48wrote a letter supporting her and forgiving her yeah so he was cool about it he eventually i guess

01:54was cool about it came in like full body cast into the courtroom imagine the stuff he's saying

01:58though about like whoever he thought right it's a piece of garbage that piece of trash i'll kill him

02:04if i ever meet him i'll kill him i swear to god they just drove off shattered my car just like

02:10yours had a car exactly like yours that's hilarious oh geez i swear to god what are the chances i thought

02:19it's a popular model i guess i've never seen one of those before it's um oh they have it on video

02:25yeah they have it oh she blasted them too look she was moving huh yeah one one of them were one of them

02:33was the actual video wasn't it yeah well that is but that oh yeah right there oh my god oh my god

02:40he got hard he got crunched let's see it in action here yep working on my night

02:54oh my god part of him is over here what is that part that's my shoes you always lose your shoes when

03:04you get hit that hard you do knock you right out of your shoes because he flew 40 feet in the air

03:10i gotta be honest it hurts you know what you think getting hit was the worst part but then

03:16when she followed it up by running over my legs and back that was the worst part nobody ever stopped

03:23i don't know about this the only words i just saw were blind grandma dalton

03:28what happened my my blind grandmother had come into town to visit us

03:35and she wanted to go shopping and so my mom was going to take her out

03:39and my mom says all right grandma you stay here i'm gonna back out the car oh no and she had a

03:46seeing eye dog that apparently decided that she needed to move uh pretty much dead behind said car

03:52oh over here okay i'm gonna trust you dog she hears a she hears a uh just like a little ping on the

04:02back of the car she's like all right now i probably should stop and check that one out

04:05and when she gets out grandma's in the middle of the yard oh my god oh my god it knocked my grandma

04:13was gonna get run over oh yeah so she's scurried she's scurried it was gonna get run over so she

04:18just started rolling like a gator yeah yeah a blind gator roll roll just like the dummy yeah

04:25get out of get out of the way god got fired yes that's uh that's seeing eye dog got fired they

04:34went shopping it was all good grandma was fine we laugh about it now uh grandpa didn't find it

04:40nearly as funny as we did at the time oh my god no you almost killed her had to roll out of the way

04:44you remember when she death rolled out of the way i never thought i'd see it fired that dog we

04:53blamed the dog we killed the dog oh my god oh the dog doesn't know no well the dog failed though

05:01the dog yes is now just someone's pet a great pet don't leave grandma behind a moving vehicle

05:06probably yeah um fallon's in boston hi fallon hi how's it going good talking about uh hitting a family

05:14member with your car so when i was in elementary school we lived on a cul-de-sac like dead end road

05:22my mom would drive us up to the bus stop at the top of our street she'd get up to the top of the

05:26street pull a u-turn so that when we got on the bus she could just drive back down the street

05:31as she's making a u-turn in the main road the door must have not latched all the way so as she turns

05:37the door flings open my brother falls out of the car and he's hanging on by the like unbuckled

05:44seat belt that he like leaned into as he fell his face is right by the tire and the only reason my mom

05:51stopped is because i started screaming oh my god oh she would have run over his little head

05:55yeah yeah he would have been watched oh my god that's when she's rethinking like i shouldn't have

06:01been a mother

06:02when your kids hold on for everybody do a seat belt like a stuntman

06:07i made a big mistake i can't handle this my kid just fell out of the car

06:12cars must have been different back then like it was much we you always hear about how easy it was for

06:20people to like just roll right out i witnessed my uncle i know fall i was 10 my aunt turned a

06:27corner my uncle flew out of their duster onto the road that's why they have so many safety things now

06:32where you can't yeah it won't open all these you know they didn't have it back then they had a

06:38problem with that door it wouldn't always close right yeah well she took the corner so hard he rolled

06:44out oh he never my uncle never let her and you were in another car watching we were in the car

06:48behind oh my god were you just like apples and cinnamon uncle jim

06:51look he's lying in the middle of the intersection yes cars flying by

06:57yeah

06:57you could fall out back then yes you could just my aunt kept going and then she like pulled into

07:07like a mcdonald's i'm like it's so traumatizing he picked up uncle jim in our car

07:11he was probably good he was so mad at my aunt and so mad oh my god

07:16uncle jim uncle jim get in oh god yeah my mom had a duster as well and that thing uh

07:24not the best car was not the best car in the world
