Written by the legendary Ed Wood, 'The Violent Years' is a "1956 crime drama" that tells the gripping story of a rebellious teenage girl who leads a gang on a spree of lawless destruction. As the consequences of their violent actions unravel, the film delivers a cautionary tale about delinquency and justice. With its "low-budget charm" and "dramatic storytelling", this cult classic remains a fascinating entry in 1950s exploitation cinema.

00:00The End
00:30The End
01:00This is a story of violence, a violence born of the uncontrolled passions of adolescent youth
01:27and nurtured by this generation of parents, those who, in their own smug little world
01:32of selfish interests and confused ideas of parental supervision, refuse to believe today's
01:38glaring headlines.
01:40But it has happened.
01:42Only the people and places have been given other names.
01:45The End
01:51Remain seated and come to order.
02:08Court is now in session.
02:09Honorable Raymond Clara, judge for sighting.
02:15Will you approach the bench, please?
02:17It's always difficult for an old friend to sit in judgment of an old friend.
02:31But law is law and it must be administered to one as to another.
02:37It now comes to light that both of you, over the past 18 years, have proven yourselves utterly
02:45incompetent in the most important responsibility given to a man and his wife.
02:51I refer to the bringing up of children in your own home.
02:55In all fairness to the society which you so miserably failed, an injustice to this child.
03:07I must deny your request.
03:11How am I to blame?
03:13Where could I have failed?
03:15I remember I gave her everything she ever wanted.
03:20Everything.
03:24Hi, Mom.
03:27Got time to talk a minute?
03:28It's rather important.
03:30Good gracious, no.
03:31I'm an hour late already.
03:33Charity first and all that sort of thing, you know.
03:37Besides, what can be so important in your young life as to warrant my attention so drastically?
03:43Well, it's been a long time since we've had a heart-to-heart talk.
03:45There, there.
03:46It can wait.
03:48Decide.
03:49What can be more important than our charities?
03:51So many children and needy families.
03:54We're so busy this time of the year and it's very, very important.
03:59I guess you're right, Mother.
04:00Of course I am.
04:03Thank you, darling.
04:05Tell you a secret.
04:06I think I like it down at the club so much because I keep getting such nice flattery.
04:10But the girls are always saying, my, my, how young and pretty you look.
04:15And you with an 18-year-old daughter.
04:18But you are pretty, Mother.
04:19Oh, go along with you.
04:21But it does sound good.
04:23Got a date tonight?
04:25Well, uh, sort of.
04:27Oh, you pretty one.
04:28Of course you do.
04:29But then what night lately haven't you?
04:32If you come in as late as you have been, do be careful and not make any noise.
04:36Dad?
04:37Oh, don't get me wrong.
04:38He hasn't complained or said anything.
04:40But the poor man works so hard.
04:43That newspaper will be the death of him.
04:47Do be a dear and take care when you come in.
04:49He needs what little rest he can get.
04:52Thank goodness you want one of those character types that your father's paper is always printing about.
04:58Need some mad money?
05:00Or is he a gentleman?
05:02I have enough, Mother.
05:02Oh, don't be silly.
05:04There's never enough.
05:09You left the Mount Black again.
05:11I could be mean and fill it in for a fortune.
05:14You could.
05:15But you won't.
05:16Let me know how much you make it out for so that I can keep my bank balance straight.
05:20All right, Mother.
05:21Will you be using my car again tonight?
05:23If you don't mind, dear.
05:24You can use mine.
05:26Now I'll tell you a secret.
05:27There are times I like yours better.
05:29Tonight is one of those times.
05:32Bill?
05:52This is Paul.
05:53Is everything ready?
05:55Good.
05:57George and Jerry show yet?
05:58Stop worrying.
05:59They'll get to you.
06:01I'll be along as soon as I can dress.
06:03Mother, just this minute left.
06:04I'll be along as soon as I can dress.
06:05Let's go.
08:04He hasn't regained consciousness in his top heavy odds he ever will.
08:07Pretty bad, huh?
08:08Pretty bad.
08:09These fool kids, when will they learn?
08:12These aren't kids.
08:13These are morons.
08:14All right, Barney.
08:19Lieutenant.
08:20Tom.
08:20Doctor.
08:22Another one, huh?
08:23Pretty bad one this time.
08:24How about it, Doc?
08:25Pretty bad.
08:26I'll get back to you later if there's any change.
08:30Anything I can print?
08:32You heard the doctor.
08:33Nothing.
08:34Suppose it's the same gang?
08:36Chances are.
08:37If only he comes to then...
08:39Well, if it is the same gang, it brings their record to 17.
08:42And the last seven of them have been gas stations.
08:44Well, looks like they'll make a specialty of gas stations for a while now.
08:48If they do, we may be ready for them.
08:50How do you mean?
08:51All gas stations open after 10 p.m. will be warned to have two men on duty at all times.
08:56One of those men could be a policeman.
09:05Lieutenant.
09:06I left Dr. Ryan in charge.
09:08The man was lucky.
09:09He'll pull through.
09:20Hi, Chief.
09:28Oh, hello, Barney.
09:30You look tired.
09:31Oh, I'm tired, but no more than you.
09:33Yeah, I am tired.
09:36Too much to newspapers these days.
09:39I haven't seen my daughter Paula in a week.
09:41I ain't into her up at school earlier this week.
09:43Gee, she gets more beautiful every day.
09:45Like I said, I wouldn't know.
09:48One of these days, I'm going to take a day off.
09:51Maybe get to know her again.
09:54What happened down at the hospital?
09:56Well, the gas station attendant pulled through.
09:59Going to spend a couple of weeks in the hospital, but he'll live.
10:01How much could he tell?
10:03They're the same gang.
10:05Four of them.
10:06Wore masks, sleeve eyes, leather jackets, and gloves with a handful of guns.
10:11Same bunch.
10:12Probably the same clues.
10:14None.
10:15Well, no fingerprints.
10:1755 sedan.
10:19License unknown.
10:20Masks.
10:21Caps covering their hair.
10:22Same old routine.
10:24Well, our little gang has one thing in their favor.
10:27Yeah, what's that?
10:28They haven't killed anyone.
10:30Yet.
10:31That's not their fault.
10:32They've tried hard enough.
10:33Just give them a little more time.
10:35Too bad we can't do anything about giving them a little more time.
10:39However, they happen to be news.
10:42You stick with the police department.
10:44See this thing through.
10:46You're the boss, Chief.
10:47You're the boss.
10:48You're the boss.
10:49But it's not.
10:50You're the boss.
10:51You're the boss.
10:52You're the boss.
10:52You're the boss.
10:53That's a great thing.
10:53You're the boss.
10:54You're the boss.
10:54That's not your fault.
10:55All right.
11:26Ain't love something.
11:41Well, what is it?
11:42Johnny, who are they?
11:43Don't ask so many questions.
11:45You might find the answers.
11:51Jerry!
11:52Be careful.
11:54That's a beautiful sweater.
11:56Take it off.
11:58What are you talking about?
11:59You ain't got stuffin' in your ears.
12:01Take that sweater off.
12:02By what right do you say?
12:03Shut up and do like she says.
12:05Do what they say, Cheryl.
12:06They've got guns.
12:07Yes, Shirley.
12:08We've got guns.
12:11You're very observant for a pretty boy.
12:15For God's sake, Cheryl.
12:16Take this sweater off.
12:18Give it to her.
12:18Now, Buster, it's your turn.
12:24Step out.
12:30Turn around.
12:31Put your hands out in front of you.
12:33Lean forward and put your hands on the car door.
12:35Come on, come on.
12:36We haven't got all night.
12:37You've seen this done before.
12:39A lousy eleven bucks.
12:54Two characters ought to learn to carry more doom.
12:57Stand up now.
12:58Well, maybe he's got more to offer than his money.
13:03What are you getting at?
13:05Big.
13:06Strong.
13:08A little pretty, maybe, but...
13:10Yeah.
13:11Under conventional circumstances, he could be very interested.
13:15Well, I wait for conventional circumstances.
13:19You got a point there.
13:20What about her?
13:22Oh, tie her up and toss in the back of the...
13:24Tie her up?
13:27You heard me.
13:28Sure I heard you.
13:29But maybe you'd like to tell me what I used to tie her up with.
13:32Use her skirt.
13:33That looks strong enough.
13:34Tie her up and use it.
13:37You heard her, girl.
13:38Get a move on.
13:45Now back to you, Henson.
13:47Look, you have my money.
13:50You have my watch.
13:51You have my ring.
13:52What more do you want?
14:02Toss in the back of the seat.
14:04Okay, but do you mind telling me where we're going?
14:07Someplace where it's safe.
14:10Just follow up.
14:15And I don't want to see you.
15:44Good morning, dear.
16:04Good morning, darling.
16:04Good morning.
16:08Don't tell me that's all you're going to have for breakfast again.
16:10I'll get something else later.
16:12You won't forget about the party tonight.
16:14What party?
16:15See, I knew you wouldn't remember when I told you.
16:19It's Paul's birthday party.
16:21Oh, I did forget.
16:23Well, it's impossible for me.
16:25I've got a newspaper to get out.
16:26With these young hoodlums running rampage through the town, I'm kept pretty much on the go.
16:31Especially at night.
16:31That's when they work.
16:33Who knows when or where they'll strike again.
16:35Sometimes you sound more like a policeman than a newspaper man.
16:38Sometimes there isn't much difference.
16:40Oh, that is too bad.
16:42I can't be here either.
16:45She's having a pajama party this year.
16:47What in the world is a pajama party?
16:49Oh, they all sit around, play games, dressed in their pajamas.
16:53The boys, too?
16:54Of course not, silly.
16:55No boys invited.
16:56Oh, I see.
16:58We're having our charity bazaar tonight, and I'm the duly elected chairman of the sales committee.
17:03I've just got to be there.
17:05Well, Paula's old enough to take care of herself now.
17:08I'll get a little gift this afternoon and have one of the boys from the office drop by with it tonight.
17:12Oh, she'll like that.
17:13Paula's such an understanding child.
17:19See you when I can.
17:34Happy birthday, darling.
17:36Thanks, Mom.
17:37You were out late again last night.
17:39A little.
17:39I can tell.
17:40Your eyes don't sparkle the way they should.
17:43Do you feel ill?
17:44No, just a little tired.
17:47A good breakfast will pick you up.
17:48What would you like to have this morning?
17:50Please don't bother.
17:51I'm just not hungry.
17:52Now, now.
17:53Mother knows best.
17:54You're a growing girl.
17:56You need your vitamins.
17:57Strength.
17:58Now, you just sit there, and I'll get you something.
18:01It'll only take a minute.
18:02It's all ready.
18:03You have plenty of time before school.
18:05You can't get.
18:06You're a growing girl.
18:07You can't do music.
18:08ears,
18:34paula what in the world brings you down here hi dad been so long since i've seen you i thought
18:51i dropped in today it's my birthday you know happy birthday gee honey i'm sorry i can't be at
18:58your party tonight but you know how busy i am i understand that then you wouldn't look good at
19:04an all-girl pajama party now would you well this certainly is a surprise i thought it would be
19:10why aren't you in school no classes to 1 30 and extra long lunch hour oh i see
19:16uh have they got a line on the girls that did this yet now don't you bother your pretty little head
19:23about such things that's your dad's department it could be very important to me how do you mean
19:27well i'm up for president of the student body this year and this type of thing you call juvenile
19:33delinquency could help me if i knew more about it and how to prevent it if you knew how to prevent it
19:38you'd go down in history as the greatest person of our time but your interest is commendable
19:43i figure it this way dad you're on the inside you know they're real low down almost as soon as it
19:49happens i guess you're right about that but what is it you want me to do that's easy as soon as
19:55anything happens you tell me everything everything that's a large order so what it's not too big for
20:02you i hardly catch you at home anymore so i'll have to see you here well if it'll help you to be
20:08president i'll do it dad you're a peach now uh anything new on last night's brunch have you read
20:14the paper yes then you have the story honest honest well what are the police doing about this
20:20whole thing either the girls have no previous record or they're from out of town it's lieutenant
20:26holmes theory that they were from out of town the boy couldn't identify any of them from the police
20:31picture files and there it will stay until something else turns up what about the gas station affair is
20:37there anything new on that nothing you could call new four young boys holmes is putting a policeman in
20:45mechanics clothes with each gas station staying open after 10 at night if the gang tries another gas
20:51station heist they'll be all through well that's interesting enough for a starter
20:58calling off the gas station oh we can't call off clanton we already have but why we could have had
21:22more of a ball at clanton's than all the rest put together maybe it'd be a little too much excitement
21:26even for us the cops will pull the sneak they'll be waiting for us so what how can the cops know we
21:32pick clanton i'll explain later the main thing is they know put them into our gas station jobs for a
21:38while we'll have to think of something now i'd like to think of something to get back at principal
21:43bank she have you on the carpet again yeah the old witch what'd you do this time practically nothing
21:50nothing for them to get so hep up about just that math teacher flunked me again so i told her off
21:56i'd like to get even with all of them maybe you'll get the chance sometimes we'll have to go over to
22:01sheila's tomorrow and get rid of last week's loot hey how come we don't use your car in our jobs
22:08how come your mother's all the time my card be spotted a mile away let's get in
22:26you
22:28you
22:30you
22:32you
22:34you
22:36you
22:38you
23:10You kids have been lucky.
23:22So what?
23:23Maybe we're just a little smart.
23:25Just be careful you don't get too smart for your own good.
23:29Help yourself if you want any.
23:32I'll get you.
23:36What have you got this time?
23:38More junk?
23:39We've never brought you junk yet.
23:41Couldn't get back half of what I paid you for that last mess.
23:44Yeah?
23:45Losing your money gets you a setup like this?
23:51Just as I thought.
23:53Junk?
23:53Those are real diamonds.
23:55I had them appraised.
23:56Appraised?
23:56Well, that was kind of foolish, wasn't it?
23:58You could be caught if they were traced.
24:00What are you taking for, a stoop?
24:02Jimmy, the fence, looked him over.
24:04He offered me $200 for the brace for the loan.
24:07$500 for the lot.
24:08I think we'll take our business to Jimmy.
24:11To her hair.
24:14Come on, gang.
24:15Sheila doesn't want to be bothered with us anymore.
24:23I've got enough on all of you to hang you a dozen times.
24:27That goes double.
24:31$7.50.
24:33That's the deal.
24:34You're a bunch of blackmailers.
24:39Oh, not that big yet.
24:40But give us a chance.
24:42We're still growing.
24:45Did you really see Jimmy this time?
24:47What difference does it make?
24:48We got what we wanted.
24:50I'm not interested in the money.
24:52There's plenty of that at home.
24:53It's the principle of the thing.
24:55I don't want anyone getting the idea they can put something over on.
24:59Sheila take her eye teeth and then try to steal the rest.
25:02It's the thrill that gets me.
25:05The thrill of the chase, me.
25:16$7.50.
25:18You think you're pretty smart, don't you?
25:20I don't think I know.
25:22That's why I'm the leader of this pack.
25:24You're a punk.
25:25Or you wouldn't be tied up in a small-time penny-ante business.
25:28You got better ideas?
25:30Maybe.
25:32Speak your piece.
25:33You girls take the bottle into the bedroom for a while.
25:36I want to talk to Paula privately.
25:41And close the door.
25:44Start talking.
25:45What do you think about school?
25:54What are you driving at?
25:56I've got a connection that doesn't like school.
25:59Most kids don't.
26:00We're not talking kid talk.
26:01It's worth a lot of money to a certain organization if certain damages are reported.
26:09I don't get it.
26:10You don't have to.
26:11All you have to know is, if you can wreck a few schoolrooms, you can make yourself in your pack a load of dough.
26:17How much dough?
26:18More than you can use.
26:19Besides, you've always said the money means nothing to you.
26:22Why would anyone pay just to have schools, Ratt?
26:25That's none of your business or mine.
26:27I have the connection.
26:29And besides, there'll be a great thrill behind this move.
26:32And don't worry if a few flags get destroyed in the process.
26:36Let's just say it's part of a well-organized farm plan.
26:41I don't understand.
26:42You don't have to.
26:44All you have to do is what you're told.
26:46How soon do we move?
26:47Just as soon as you can.
26:49But be careful you're not caught.
26:50You're no good to me in the clink.
26:52We won't get caught.
26:54I don't know how you can be so sure.
26:57It's easy.
27:11I don't know how you can be so sure you can be so sure you can be so sure you can be so sure you can be so sure you can be so sure you can be so sure you can be so sure you can be so sure you can be so sure you can be so sure you can be so sure you can be so sure you can be so sure you can be so sure you can be so sure you can be so sure you can be so sure you can be so sure you can be so sure you can be so sure you can be so sure you can be so sure you can be so sure you can be so sure you can be so sure.
27:41Sheila talks too much.
27:56All she did was say that you're a right guy and glad I should meet you.
28:00And as pretty as you are, I'm glad I came.
28:03I don't need her to pick my friends for me.
28:06I'm sure you don't.
28:08I'm pretty particular.
28:09Well, I'm sure you are.
28:11I slayed it alone for a long time, and that's how I plan to keep it.
28:15Maybe I should look for my new company elsewhere.
28:18No.
28:18You're here now.
28:19You might as well stay.
28:20Okay.
28:21Since I'm now an invited guest, you want Mama giving you a birthday gift.
28:25Hmm?
28:25Uh-uh.
28:26Mmm.
28:26Oh.
28:27Oh.
28:27Oh.
28:29Oh.
28:30Oh.
28:30Oh.
28:30The End
29:00Yeah, I'd like to speak to Miss Parkins.
29:09Carla?
29:10Yes.
29:11What about?
29:13I don't think that's any of your affair.
29:15Why, you...
29:15It's all right, Manny.
29:17He's from my dad's office.
29:22Fine way to greet a guest who bears gifts.
29:25A mug butler.
29:27Don't pay Manny a second thought.
29:28You've seen too many gangster movies.
29:31He's really very nice once you get to know him.
29:33That brings up the point.
29:35Too many people stick around long enough to get to know him that well?
29:38May I come in?
29:39Sure, if you want to.
29:40I see the party's formal dress.
29:59It's a pajama party.
30:02Yeah, I could see that, but mixed crowd, huh?
30:04Well, uh...
30:06Gang, I want you to meet my father's star reporter, Barney Susson.
30:11Hi, gang.
30:11Look, don't let me interrupt anything.
30:21Birthdays are just like Christmas.
30:23They only come once a year.
30:24Yeah.
30:33It's kind of cold in here all of a sudden.
30:35Don't let it worry you.
30:44That's a cute pair.
30:46They have their points.
30:47Oh, I almost forgot the reason for my visit.
30:50Your father's going to be very late tonight and ask me to drop this off for you.
30:54Poor Dad.
30:55Worked so hard.
30:56Thanks for bringing.
30:58Aren't you going to open it?
31:00Later.
31:01I know what it is.
31:02Dad gets me the same present every birthday.
31:05A new watch.
31:07Mom, come look.
31:08Oh, never mind, Paula.
31:09I saw the new convertible when I came in.
31:12It never changes.
31:15Mom and Dad haven't been to my birthday parties in years.
31:18But always the same present.
31:20Mom sneaks out and takes my old car in for a trade.
31:23Then has a new one delivered secretly.
31:26Takes a cab to her club.
31:28Funny.
31:29I like her sedan better.
31:33Let's have some more music.
31:39Let's have some more music.
32:09Ain't you seen enough yet, Todd, sister?
32:37Maybe you've seen enough to know you ain't wanted.
32:39Knock it off, Manny.
32:41I don't like this guy's looks.
32:44Then why don't you change him, Manny?
32:47Maybe that's a good idea.
32:49What about I should change your looks, Todd, sister?
32:52Maybe you'd like that, huh?
32:55How old are you, punk?
32:56Over 21.
32:59Now, that's old enough.
33:00He asked for that.
33:09You're in bad company, Paula.
33:11But I don't want to sound like I'm telling you your business.
33:14Then don't try.
33:15You're in bad place.
33:19I don't want to.
33:35Why do you hit me?
33:37The train.
33:43Well, that dirty soft sister, I'll take care of him.
33:47Haven't you had enough for one night?
33:52Good night, boys. The party's over.
33:57But the night's just beginning.
34:06The night's just going to be a good night.
34:08The night's just going to be a good night.
34:09The night's just going to be a good night.
34:31This is something I've been waiting for for a long, long time.
34:34We'll get it done as quickly as possible.
34:36We'll get in, get the job done, and get out.
34:48I'm going to smash everything in this joint.
34:50Let's do it quick and get out of here.
34:57I hate you.
35:00I wish this was your strong mess.
35:06I'll hate you till the day I die.
35:08I'll hate you till the day I die.
35:10I'll hate you till the day I die.
35:12I'll hate you till the day I die.
35:14I may die.
35:27I want you to miss the 글...
35:28I'll see you too.
35:29Oh, my God.
35:59You've all got guns. Get them into action.
36:09They're shooting back.
36:10What do you expect them to do? Throw powder pots?
36:13Well, ammunition can't last forever.
36:15How many have you all got?
36:16Well, then what's in my gun?
36:18All I've got left is in my gun.
36:19I've got ten shells in my pocket, then puff.
36:21We'll have to beat it to the car.
36:23I've got a dozen boxes under the back seat.
36:25Lay it into them fast, then we'll beat it.
36:29Look at them jump, just like rabbits.
36:47It ain't supposed to be this way.
36:51It ain't supposed to be this way.
37:01Dirty.
37:10Got it.
37:11Now save the rest of your ammo, and let's get out of here.
37:21Where do we go from here?
37:23Sheila.
37:24She got us into this mess, and she can get us out.
37:28From now on, we've got to keep on the move.
37:30Let's go.
37:30Let's go.

40:50There's nothing we can do about it now.
40:52We'll just have to clear out.
40:54Out of the country.
40:57Sheila kept quite a stack of bills in her phone.

47:21a prisoner of the state standing in the courtroom convicted of murder in the first degree
47:25because of your youth Paula Parkins it is impossible for me to give you the sentence you so rightfully deserve you are hereby mandate to the proper institution
47:29first degree. Because of your youth, Paula Parkham, it's impossible for me to give you
47:37the sentence you so rightfully deserve. You are hereby mandered to the proper institution
47:46until you become 21 years of age, at which time you will be transferred to the state
47:56penitentiary for women, where you will spend the rest of your natural life.
48:26I don't think I could drink another cup. It passes the time. It's all my fault. If only
48:36I hadn't thought more of my outside interest than I did of Paula. It's a strong, hard lesson
48:43we've been taught. It's no more your fault than it is mine. It's certainly a fine pair of
48:49parents. We still have each other. That's some comfort. It all seems like such a bad dream.
48:58Ever since I can remember, we've given Paula everything. Everything but real love. A new
49:06dress instead of a caress. A new car instead of a heart-to-heart talk. A new watch. It does
49:17no good to look back. It can only be more of a hurt. We must now look forward, using the
49:24past only as a pattern of judgment for the future. Paula's lesson to us was strong. Her
49:33child will profit by our mistakes.
49:40How do you feel, darling?
49:58How do you feel, darling? I don't want my baby in a place like this. I don't. I don't feel
50:11so well. Everything keeps going around. We'll see, Judge Clara. We'll take care of everything.
50:20everything. If only we knew who... Everything will be all right.
50:27That's all now. It's time you were leaving. Rest easy now. It'll be all right. We'll see
50:48you when it's... when it's all over.
50:55it'll be all right. So what?
51:18it'll be a bit better.
51:20It'll be all right.
51:21It'll be all right.
51:23ious
51:25it'll be all right.
51:26I love it.
51:31It's all right.
51:33I love it.
51:35Well, I love it.
51:37In this world, I love it.
51:39I love it.
51:41I love it.
51:42I love it.
51:43the baby girl is well and healthy my daughter how is she she she died
52:13some people think newspapers exaggerate juvenile crime all that it's confined mostly to large
52:20cities this is far from being the case from coast to coast in small communities as well
52:28as the larger cities juvenile delinquency is on the rise no child is inherently bad made what he
52:40is by his upbringing and his surroundings that's apparent that something has gone wrong with the
52:48environment a great many of these children or we wouldn't have this present delinquency problem
52:54adults create the world children live in and in this process parents play the key role when children
53:04grow up among adults who refuse to recognize anything that is fine and good or worthy of
53:12respect it's no wonder that many of these children fail to develop high moral standards or to distinguish
53:21right from wrong their attitude is summed up in two callous words so what juvenile delinquency is
53:32always rooted in adult delinquency and only through general acceptance of higher moral values can we
53:42hope to solve the problem the easiest way to bring this about is through a return to religion if all
53:50people would join this back to God movement and train their children to respect the Ten Commandments or
53:58other moral laws laid down by all the great religions we would soon bring delinquency under control but the time has come that we must impose sterner penalties and restrictions against the young lawbreaker to protect the law abiding
54:20his mere youth is no excuse for letting him remain at large some young criminals are just as vicious and dangerous as older criminals and lawbreakers
54:32no young offender should be released in the custody of his parents unless an investigation shows the parents are capable of controlling his behavior
54:43behavior if they are not his supervision should be entrusted to a more responsible agency
54:50and in making parents financially liable for property damage caused by their children could be especially helpful against the wave of vandalism
55:03which has been sweeping across our country with this responsibility we're sure that parents would keep a closer eye on the
55:13the kind of fun their children are having and that the old-fashioned woodshed would receive more use and vandalism would decline
55:22some parents refuse to recognize the moral obligation to the child they bring into the world when that is the case
55:33we must take stronger measures to make them realize their responsibilities so you see I
55:42I cannot possibly grant your request for the adoption of the child of your daughter
55:49the child must remain a ward of the state until such time as a suitable family can be found
55:54at that time the child will be granted to this worthy family to be brought up in the world as it should know the world
56:03for you Jane Parkins and for you Carl Parkins I can only feel the deepest of sorrow
56:14Why do you think I have a man with a man with a husband from her son?
56:16I don't know
56:17I don't know
56:18but I don't know
