00:00South Korean rescue workers on Saturday pulled a man from the rubble of a collapsed subway construction site in Gwangmyung, southwest of Seoul, and continued searching for another believed to be trapped.
00:13The site is part of a new commuter rail line connecting central Seoul to the suburbs.
00:18According to Gwangmyung's fire department, the rescued man had been trapped about 30 meters underground for roughly 13 hours.
00:26He was conscious when found and taken to a nearby hospital.
00:30Authorities had earlier evacuated the site and closed nearby roads after receiving reports of a ventilation shaft at risk of collapse.
00:38Dozens of rescuers, vehicles, and three cranes were deployed to search for the missing worker.
00:44Police said the road will remain closed until the area is secured.
00:49The incident follows a separate accident weeks earlier in which one person was killed when a massive sinkhole opened at another metro construction site in Seoul.
