00:00We want to underscore again that we're coming to Chicago peacefully, but whether we're giving permits or not, we're coming.
00:07We're going to Chicago to protest the Vietnam War.
00:11There's no place to be right now but in it.
00:13We watched for a decade while these rebels without a job tell us how to prosecute a war.
00:19They're going to spend their 30s in a federal facility, real time.
00:23People say, you know, Abby, are you concerned about an overreaction from the cops?
00:28Holy shit.
00:29You all right?
00:31No worries until I saw that.
00:36Are the people ready to make opening arguments?
00:39At the defense table, Abby Hoffman, Jerry Rubin, Dave Dellinger, Renny Davis, Lee Weiner, John Fruins, Tom Hayden, and Bobby Seale.
00:46These defendants had a plan and the plan was to incite a riot.
00:50I call this portion of the trial with friends like these.
00:54My trial has begun without my lawyer.
00:56The court assumes you are being represented by the Black Panther sitting behind you.
01:02The riots were started by the Chicago Police Department.
01:05Sustained.
01:06Nobody objected.
01:07Jurors 6 and 11, they're with us.
01:10Juror number 6 and juror number 11.
01:12You're dismissed from this jury.
01:13Can you tell us why?
01:15Because this is my courtroom.
01:17We've dealt with jury tampering, wiretapping, a defendant that was literally gagged.
01:21Get your hands off me.
01:22You're the first to suggest that I have discriminated against a Black man.
01:29Then let the record show that I'm the second.
01:33When we walked in here this morning, they were chanting that the whole world is watching.
01:37If we leave here without saying anything about why we came in the first place, it'll be heartbreaking.
01:44Last summer, why did you come to the convention?
01:46To end the war.
01:48We're giving them exactly what they want, a stage and an audience.
01:52You really think there's going to be a big audience?
01:53Here I go!
01:55All the world is watching!
01:57This is what revolution looks like.
01:58Real revolution.
01:59We may have to hurt somebody's feelings.
02:01All the world is watching!
02:03Is this prosecution politically motivated?
02:05I'm tired of hearing you.
02:06It would be impossible for me to care any less what you are tired of.
02:11Here I go!
02:12All the world is watching!
02:14There will be more!
02:15All the world is watching!
02:17We have to find some courage now.
02:19All the world is watching!
02:21All the world is watching!
02:23How much is it worth you?
02:25What's your price?
02:25To call off the revolution?
02:29My life.
02:30What's your price?
02:33What's your price?
02:33Because a new day is dawning.
02:38The new day is dawning.
02:41The whole world is watching!
