Sam Zelinski on University's chances in 2025

00:00Sam Zolinski from the University Rugby Club. Sam, tell us about the pre-season.

00:03It's been really good. Big numbers, lots of young guys coming to university.

00:08A few old heads coming back. Scotty Hamilton, Jake Aleph are still around the trap.

00:11So yeah, really positive, looking good.

00:12You've got a new coaching coordinator in Josh Meads with a couple of old uni boys helping him out.

00:18Yeah, that's right. Some guys that were playing in the last few years for us.

00:22So Josh Meads at the helm and then Heinze and Dame Sherratt helping out in the coaching role.

00:27Who's some of the players to look out for this year?

00:30I think Murray Sutherland's going to be impressive again.

00:33And then Cal on the side gets through a heap of work and he's had a big pre-season.

00:40What about this scrum university? It's always the testing one.

00:43You're at the forefront of that, mate.

00:44Are you going to ask some questions of some of these other sides this season?

00:47Yeah, we hope so. We've still got Scotty and I plugging away in the front row.

00:50So we'll certainly try and capitalise off the back of a strong scrum, yeah.

00:54Murray rather won the comp last year. Who in your eyes is the team to beat this time around?

00:57Yeah, I think Greens will be really strong again.

01:01And then I think Maitland have a few new recruits, or so the rumour meal says,

01:06which will be interesting to see how they go.

01:07But yeah, it'll be tough. Greens and Blacks both looking really good.
