00:00The National Food Authority and the Department of Agriculture held a dialogue to look for help for the farmers and their families.

00:08The center of the news is from Vell Custodio.

00:11Machinery for farmers, amendment to the rice tariffication law, and scholarship for the children of farmers.

00:20That became the center of the dialogue of the National Food Authority and the Department of Agriculture to the farmers of Nueva Ecija earlier.

00:27The DA's aim is to give machinery to the farmers for more effective rice production.

00:33The drying facility is really important.

00:35And the government should put a fund there for the rice to dry.

00:42The price of rice drops by P12 when it is wet and can be a loss for the farmers.

00:49Secondly, the machinery.

00:52Because there is help if the work is mechanized faster.

00:56The dialogue also discussed the strengthening of the selling power of the NFA rice.

01:00The Department of Agriculture then called for the NFA to return full authority for the sale of the NFA rice.

01:07This is so that the NFA can sell rice to the market from the bought rice to the farmers at the right price,

01:14even if there is no declaration of food security emergency.

01:17NFA Administrator Larry Lackson and DA Undersecretary Asis Perez led the help to the farmers.

01:24Former DILG Secretary and the Alliance for the New Filipino Senatorial Candidate Benjuer Abalos also joined the dialogue.

01:32You have the imported rice.

01:34If that is what you're looking at.

01:36But if you can buy it at the right price that is not that expensive,

01:40and at the right price that is not too high for the consumers,

01:45you will find a perfect balance here.

01:48The farmers approached the Department of Agriculture to prioritize the education of their children

01:54in state universities and colleges as part of the allowance.

01:59Some also discussed the low amilliar or land tax,

02:03the expansion of crop insurance,

02:05and the low interest in loans for the farmers.

02:09The aim of the government's assistance under the leadership of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

02:15and local farmers is to continue to prioritize the agricultural sector for food security.
