00:00It is now formal for Australia to give drones to the Philippines.

00:04Drones will be used to track or monitor the West Philippine Sea.

00:14It is now formal for the Philippine Coast Guard to receive the Unmanned Aerial System, UAAS,

00:21from Australia in a ceremony held today here in Mariveles, Bataan.

00:27PCG Commander-in-Chief Admiral Ronnie Hill-Gavan and Australian Ambassador to the Philippines,

00:34Hay Ong Yew, said that the total value of the UAAS is P34 million.

00:42This will be included in the 30-year PCG training to learn and improve the use of drones.

00:51It will be used for maritime security, to monitor the condition of the sea,

00:56and search and rescue operations, especially in high-density populated areas.

01:02It will also be used for operations in the West Philippine Sea.

01:05According to Admiral Hill-Gavan, they plan to buy more drones

01:09to strengthen their operations and capabilities.

01:13Meanwhile, PCG continues to monitor the presence of Chinese research vessels in Bataan.
