00:00The Philippine Coast Guard successfully chased off a large Chinese ship that approached Palawig, Zambales.

00:06While in action, a Chinese research vessel was discovered inside the Philippine Exclusive Economic Zone in Batanes.

00:18This is what the Chinese research vessel that was detected in the Canadian Dark Vessel Detection System near Batanes.

00:25According to the Philippine Coast Guard, it can be seen in the navigation pattern of the Zongshan Daswe,

00:30which is almost 5 days inside the Philippine Exclusive Economic Zone.

00:34It is more than 103.8 nautical miles from Itbayat.

00:38The commandant of the Philippine Coast Guard has already directed our Coast Guard aircraft

00:44to challenge this Chinese research vessel

00:50and for us also to document such unlawful and unlawful activity of the Chinese research vessel

00:57in our own Exclusive Economic Zone.

00:59The PCG is calling on China to stop scientific research inside the EEZ in other countries

01:06in respect of sovereign rights.

01:08Meanwhile, in a video from the PCG,

01:12the dangerous operation of the China Coast Guard Vessel 3302

01:17in front of the BRP Cabra is 83-85 nautical miles away from Palawig, Zambales.

01:23The Chinese vessel is bigger,

01:25but the BRP Cabra was able to defeat it

01:27through the skillful seamanship of the crew.

01:31The PCG of the Maritime Patrol carried out from Saturday

01:34in accordance with the Philippine Maritime Zones Act,

01:36including a 2016 Arbitral Award.

01:39What the Chinese Coast Guard is claiming

01:42is that they are also carrying out a legitimate maritime operation
