00:00The government is now alert because of the expected increase of tourists in Region 1 this Holy Week.

00:07The Office of Civil Defense is calling for the public to help the authorities.

00:12I'm Grace Acuar of Radyo Pilipinas for Balitang Pambansang.

00:19A week before Holy Week, the government agencies are ready to provide security to the tourists and visitors here in Region 1.

00:29From April 12 to April 21, the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council will increase the blue alert status in the region.

00:38We will elevate the blue alert status so that 70% or 80% of our personnel are ready for deployment.

00:45The rest are still ready in case they need it.

00:49Or if necessary, it depends on the need if the red alert status needs to be raised.

00:55And because the Emergency Operations Center will be activated in Holy Week,

00:59the local authorities will deploy rescue assets such as ambulances to meet the needs of the public.

01:07Aside from this, the law enforcement agencies are also in full force to monitor the terminal and tourist areas.

01:15Our police personnel will also add our police visibility to the terminals, tourist areas and public places.

01:25They will continue to conduct checkpoints.

01:28Our Coast Guard is also ready for deployment of our Coast Guard members in our coastal areas.

01:38The Office of Civil Defense of Region 1 is advising tourists to help the authorities and be careful when going to tourist destinations,

01:46especially when swimming in the sea.
