People on the street: How to stave off the pollen

We went out into Manchester to ask people on the street about their hacks for keeping hayfever at bay.

00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World, my name's Theo Cusenbeth and today I'm out on the streets of Manchester

00:04asking people about a problem that affects me pretty personally, and that is hay fever.

00:09Now, I've already been sneezing a little bit today and I'm terrified for the coming months.

00:13I want to know what people's go-to hay fever remedies are, how they can keep themselves protected,

00:17and hopefully it'll do me some favours as well.

00:20Honestly, not very much works for me. I'm really terrible, I kind of just have to suffer along with it.

00:25What about the air purifier mask?

00:27Air purifier? Yeah, but that's okay, but when you're out and about in the actual, you know, in a park or somewhere

00:34and you're sneezing all over everybody, it's not very helpful.

00:37Two bits of tissue scrunched up and punched.

00:41Me and my dad have a bad side of genetics. I like to put Vaseline around my nose, that probably helps,

00:47and some medicine I take.

00:51Antihistamines?

00:52Yeah, I think it's that.

00:53I've never heard the Vaseline thing actually.

00:55That's quite good, you rub it around your nose.
