MP He Ting Ru from The Workers’ Party responds with “akan datang” (Malay for “coming soon”) when asked at a Sengkang Town Council event about election plans.

00:00Okay, I'll just answer that very quickly with, akan datang, as you guys are probably aware,

00:12this is a town council event, so we wanted to focus really on Sengkang Tau and the plans

00:16that the town council has, as and when the election campaign kicks off later this year,

00:21you will hear from us.

00:25And similarly, the most important point is that work continues as business as usual for

00:31Sengkang Town Council, and I think even during the general election itself or any other period,

00:36Sengkang Town Council will continue to operate, that's phenomenal.

00:52At the heart of the master plan is the rejuvenation of Sengkang Sculpture Park, which will be

00:56carried out in two phases.

00:58As part of the first phase, this area behind me will be transformed into a waterscape,

01:04complete with a new sailboat water feature at its centre.

01:08As for the second phase, the Sengkang Town Council will be launching an open call for

01:12residents aged between 18 and 30 to form part of a steering committee, as they work towards

01:19shaping the larger parts of this park with inclusivity in mind.
