The police have questioned 15 individuals, including contractors, subcontractors and
00:07
workers who are believed to have been directly involved in excavation work to install sewage
00:12
pipes near the site of the Putra Heights gas pipeline explosion.
00:17
Selangor Police Chief Hussein Omar Khan said there is no need to reveal the names of the
00:21
contractors allegedly involved in the explosion, adding that the police's investigation into
00:27
the blaze has not been classified as a criminal case.
00:30
Hussein said while the police found that the distance between the sewage pipe and the gas
00:34
pipeline was 1.6 meters, the sewage pipe did not show any signs of obvious disturbance
00:39
that could jeopardize the gas pipeline.
00:42
Hussein also said 25 homes were completely destroyed by the blaze following the explosion
00:47
last Tuesday.
00:49
He added that 219 of the 439 homes evaluated in the blast's radius were found to have
00:55
been damaged, of which 87 homes experienced damage exceeding 20%.
01:00
Hussein said homes with less than 20% damage are allowed to be repaired by the residents
01:05
or property owners starting today.
