00:00Angelique, a week after an election officer fired a shot at the Commission on Elections in Maguindanao del Norte,

00:09Comelec's decision to put the municipality of Datu-Odinsensua under Comelec control was already made.

00:17After the Commission on Elections' entire unbanked discussion yesterday,

00:23Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia announced today that in a unanimous decision,

00:30Datu-Odinsensua will be put under Comelec control.

00:33Garcia explained that once the municipality is under Comelec control, they will be in charge of the area.

00:42The Comelec needs a specific person or group in charge of the area

00:49to perform the work of the administrator of a Comelec-controlled area.

00:57Through Comelec control, tensions in the area will be lowered.

01:03The first recommendation of the local Comelec in unbanked is to put the whole of Maguindanao del Norte under Comelec control.

01:10But Garcia said that for now, they are just focused on Datu-Odinsensua.

01:17We are focused on Datu-Odinsensua, even though we are admitting the recommendation of our people in the field,

01:25including our law enforcement authorities, to put the whole province under Comelec control.

01:33The investigation continues until the death of Election Officer Baye Maceda Lidasan-Abo

01:39and his wife, Jojo Abo, who was accused by Comelec of being involved in the incident.

01:45Comelec also reminded that the candidates should respect each other during the campaign.

01:53Do not get sick and above all, do not violate Comelec's rules.

01:58Meanwhile, today, the Octa Research Group survey showed that 66% of Filipinos

02:06believe that vote-buying will be a priority this 2025 election.

02:11Comelec replied that they believe and trust that the poll bodies will do the vote-buying

02:18and if they see someone involved in this, they will immediately report to their office.

02:25We are asking for help from our fellow Filipinos.

02:27It is not enough that we are just watching even though we are not accepting.

02:31It would be better if you report us. We will take action.

02:34If we don't take action, don't report us. Comelec has no account.

02:39We need someone to report us.

02:41Our fellow Filipinos should believe in the process and system that we are implementing

02:45and at the same time, they should believe that this kind of irregularity will not happen.

02:54Angelics, as of now, 34 incidents of vote-buying are being investigated by the Commission on Elections

03:02and the Committee on Contrabigay is leading the investigation.

03:07Meanwhile, Angelic, here in Comelec Control, in Datu Odinson, Suat,

03:11Comelec said that tomorrow, the resolution is expected to be released

03:15and if it is released, it will be immediately implemented in the municipality.
