After 23 years of planning, the Windmill Hill Town Centre in Moore Creek, just north of Tamworth, is finally getting off the ground. Video by Gareth Gardner

00:00Yeah, so it's been a long time for us, and yeah, we're pretty excited that we've started.

00:12By the time it's finished, they estimate it to be between 12,000 to 14,000 people living

00:17from here and out in Moor Creek, which realistically is bigger than Gunnedah, quite a bit bigger

00:22than Gunnedah, so we think out here the people deserve some sort of centre.

00:25It's a real lifestyle development, and I think it'll be probably the finest, you know, lifestyle

00:31commercial unit development in regional Australia once it's finished.

00:34We've got a couple of restaurants, we've got a couple of retailers, we've obviously got

00:38the Metcash back ITA operator, which will be a very, very upmarket type of development

00:44in the supermarket space.

00:45I don't think you'll see anything in regional Australia what these guys are looking to do

00:49here, which is really exciting.
