00:04what's coming up in the week ahead.

00:07Bradford is celebrating the best in brass this week as part of its 2025 UK City of Culture

00:13programme. The Big Brass Blowout is taking place from April 11th to 13th, and brings

00:18together a variety of brass acts for three days and nights of music across the district.

00:24Highlights include the opening concert, BBC Radio 2 Loves Brass, as well as performances

00:28with Blackdite band and singer and guitarist Richard Hawley.

00:33In television, a new BBC thriller filmed in Yorkshire is airing today. It's called Reunion,

00:39and it's about revenge and redemption. It follows the journey of Daniel Brennan, played

00:43by Matthew Gurney, as a deaf man who is released from prison, but is shunned by the deaf community

00:49and not able to integrate elsewhere. Reunion is groundbreaking in the sense of it being

00:54filmed with a deaf and hearing crew, with Gurney saying it could completely change the

00:59landscape for deaf actors. It's being produced by Sheffield-based Warp Films.

01:07Also today, April 7th, is World Health Day. That's celebrated annually to draw attention

01:13to a specific health topic of concern for people around the world, and the date marks

01:18the anniversary of the founding of the World Health Organisation back in 1948. This year,

01:24the day will kick off a year-long campaign around maternal and newborn health. The campaign,

01:29called Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures, will urge governments and health communities

01:34to ramp up efforts to end preventable maternal and newborn deaths, and to prioritise women's

01:40longer-term health and wellbeing.
