Bondville Model Village: I went on Bridlington's land train to Sewerby to visit the model village

Our reporter Sophie Mei Lan heads to Bondville Model Village in Bridlington.

00:00all aboard the land train i've never caught the land train here in bridlington but we're about

00:04to do it today and go to bondville model village which reopened last year so we're going to check

00:10out all the miniatures and you can even for the half journey return we're at the leisure center

00:15at the moment you can even go all the way to sewer bee gardens but we'll see how we get on at

00:20bondville first many people like myself have visited bridlington since they were a child

00:27but never visited sewer bee or bondville film model village a blast from the past it opened in 1980s

00:36and then it shut for ages but local entrepreneur rachel hill and her family have reopened it and

00:42it's super accessible kid friendly and honestly it's like being like on an adventure with the borrowers

00:50it's open to all ages kids are the vips here however but it really is a lovely mindful quaint

00:59british thing to do with all the family we were given a quiz to complete which encourages you to look

01:06closer and not to miss any of the fantastic details it took us around 45 minutes to have a gentle stroll

01:15around answering all the questions and even having a little sit down just to appreciate all the

01:22surroundings you'll also see that some of the houses are now sponsored by local businesses

01:29which help to keep bondville alive locals say that the reopening has encouraged more tourists to this part

01:37of bridlington the often forgotten part there's even a nod to yorkshire's best newspaper in our humble

01:46opinion that is love is you have to look carefully and closely otherwise you miss things look at those

01:53the spray painting i'm a regular here i come i'm here most days and i love it i absolutely love it staff

02:04and how wonderful that the children have got an old-fashioned thing that will never go out of

02:10fashion to come to i just i think it's marvelous i really do yeah what do you think it's done for

02:16the area well it's brought people in definitely it's it's a fresh interest isn't it and people that's

02:23known this place before as i haven't they're coming back they're coming back and bringing their

02:30children and their grandchildren which i think is absolutely wonderful and what's the park

02:35bridlington called this area sewer beach which is where i live yeah so make sure there's time in

02:41your day to have a coffee have a chat and even to have a spot of lunch there's a cafe inside but

02:48there's also an outdoor street food area
