00:00Usec, the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines is appealing to the President to push for

00:08the urgent passage of the legislated wage hike, 200 pesos, citing the dire living conditions

00:13of workers.

00:14Is this something that the President has already considered and is discussing with his cabinet?

00:19Actually, the directive of our President is to follow what is in the labor code and he

00:26also gave him an order to review by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board the

00:33salary or wages of our countrymen in each region, and currently there has been a review in 16

00:43regions and there are regions that have already raised their salaries.

00:47I will just give you the details once I have the copy, so that is our good news for our

00:54countrymen.

00:55In order to raise salaries, we need to listen to all employers, employees, so that we can

01:04provide better and reasonable salaries for our countrymen.

01:10As to the legislated hike, the President is not keen on pushing for that?
