00:00
Charlie, thank you for joining us. It's a crazy game where we're scratching our heads
00:04
thinking how we're on the wrong side of it. Can I get your thoughts on it first?
00:08
Yeah, Peterborough games are always high-scoring games with the threat they've got on the top line.
00:13
They are a threat going forwards. I think we dealt with it a lot better in the second half.
00:18
We were a lot more compact, tougher to beat, defended better.
00:23
It's just a shame we came in at half-time the way it was.
00:27
I think we should have deserved to come out in front.
00:30
What's the feeling like in the dressing room?
00:33
Never mind the circumstances of where we find ourselves in the table,
00:37
a defeat like that at any part of the season must feel pretty heartbreaking.
00:41
Yeah, it does feel like a kick in the teeth now, but we've got to wake up tomorrow,
00:46
forget about it and move on and go again for Saturday.
00:49
We can't change it now. It is what it is.
00:52
The manager's just said that there's nothing we can do about it.
00:55
We just move on and take the positives from it and take it into Saturday.
01:00
Yeah, and although we conceded four, there are a lot of positives as we were just chatting about outside there.
01:05
Most other teams, we maybe even find ourselves freeing it up when Rush scores that goal.
01:09
But because Peterborough are so fast going forward, they've got such a threat,
01:12
which makes it a great game to watch as a neutral because it is quite literally end-to-end
01:16
as you said, they're a basketball game.
01:18
But it's just tough, isn't it? Because at this stage of the season, we need the points.
01:22
But as you say, there are lots of positives that we can take into the last games.
01:26
Yeah, we do need the points.
01:28
We can't hide from that. If we play like that from now to the end of the season,
01:32
we're going to win a lot more games than we lose.
01:34
So that's the way we've got to look at it.
01:37
Yeah, and obviously the gap, I don't know if you've had a chance to even check the scores yet,
01:40
but obviously the gap to Bristol remains six.
01:42
You know, Burton have extended their gap to us a little bit.
01:45
But in some ways, it's almost like if you sort of discounting Burton,
01:49
which we can't do, but from where we need to get out,
01:52
it's almost like it's just this never happened.
01:53
You play like that, as you say, we're going to be fine, aren't we?
01:56
So it's tough to analyse, isn't it?
01:58
Yeah, we can't look at the other teams around as results,
02:02
but we sort of have to. It's down to us at the end of the day.
02:05
If we win our games, we know we'll get out of it.
02:09
But obviously we're going to have a look at everyone else's results.
02:13
But at the end of the day, that doesn't affect us.
02:16
It's what we do and we have to pick up the points.
02:18
It doesn't matter what everyone else does.
02:20
If we don't pick up the points we need.
02:23
Yeah, it's tough.
02:24
Obviously, we're still a relatively young team.
02:26
Obviously, you find yourself captaining it as a relatively young player yourself.
02:29
So just to show the fight that we're showing,
02:33
a lot of respect has to go to the lads, doesn't it?
02:35
Yeah, you can even see that everyone worked so hard tonight.
02:37
Left everything out there. You can see at the end,
02:40
we blocked about five shots in 10 seconds at the end.
02:43
Everyone was desperate to win, putting their bodies on the line.
02:46
Everyone's giving everything and everyone will give everything
02:49
all the way to the end of the season.
02:51
And I think if we have that attitude
02:53
and we keep going into every game like that,
02:55
then we've definitely got a chance.
02:58
Seeing the performances in the last three games,
03:02
there's been so much intent, so much belief in the players.
03:05
And it seems like quite a marked difference from before.
03:07
What has Scott done and said that has made this difference inside?
03:11
He's just said, I don't think you lot believe in how good you are.
03:16
And he's given us the platform.
03:17
Just go show everyone how good you actually are.
03:20
He said, I think we don't believe in ourselves as much as we should.
03:24
And we do have the ability and we have the quality in the changing room.
03:27
Just go out there and show people you can do it.
03:29
I think that's shown, especially with the front boys in the last few weeks
03:32
have gone out and ran riot against teams.
03:35
It's given them that confidence and us at the back to just be as solid
03:39
as we can and brave on the ball.
03:41
And you've had quite the season.
03:43
Obviously, you weren't starting at the beginning of the season.
03:45
Then you've become a regular and now you're captain.
03:48
I mean, how does that feel and how are you enjoying the captaincy role?
03:51
Yeah, football changes fast.
03:53
We all know that. A lot can change throughout a season.
03:57
I've really enjoyed it, I'll be honest.
04:00
I enjoy the responsibility. It's a great group of lads to lead out there.
04:04
So yeah, whenever I'm asked to do it, I'm more than happy to do it.
04:07
Yeah, and that was a great advert for League One football, wasn't it?
04:10
Yeah, the amount of quality that was on show, some of the quality of the goals.
04:14
Two very good teams, very good for the neutral.
