The sun is shining in Paris, but the air remains cool. Around 70 people bathe in the 12-degree water of the Bassin de la Villette for the "Coupe de Paris", an event organised by brave Parisians who are making the most of the water purification measures implemented by the Paris City Hall ahead of the Olympic Games.

00:00It was cold, I'm not used to it, I'm used to swimming in the pool, so yeah it's a
00:28little bit of a shock at the start, but it's great, there's a great sky, there's a
00:32big sun, so it's great, we had a lot of fun, that was the goal, and it was a good success.
00:38It's been years since we've been swimming, we've been swimming several times a week, we've really had thousands of
01:00individual swims in our pool for years, and so far we haven't had any
01:04particular health problems, so we weren't very worried, but since the investments
01:09that have been made, especially for the ILO, we are even less worried, we have clearly seen the quality of the water
01:14improve, so there is no concern on our part.
01:17I'm going to say that everything went very well in the Seine this summer, it's true that we didn't
01:35benefit from good weather conditions upstream, but despite everything the events, the
01:40tests were able to take place, and now, with the three swimming pools that will open
01:44from July 5 in the Seine, I think it's won, maybe in a while we won't talk about it
01:49and when it's very hot we'll be very happy to have places to go for a swim safely.
