00:03You know, I saw Gore pitch at a spring training game in person

00:05and thought, wow, he looks really good this year.

00:08Didn't think it would be this good.

00:10Six innings pitch, 13 strikeouts.

00:12George, I mean, not that long ago,

00:15he was considered a top three prospect in all of baseball.

00:19And sometimes we forget about that stuff,

00:21and then he was traded from the Padres to the Nationals.

00:24It's like, all right, he's going to be good,

00:26but would the Padres, you know, really

00:28trade all of those players from Juan Soto?

00:31The answer was yes.

00:32I mean, I got to say here, it's one start.

00:36I'm not going to overreact.

00:38I'm going to be watching his Cy Young market, man.

00:40Like, this is, I mean, when you put that number one

00:42on your jersey, you do it for a reason.

00:45You got to have a lot of confidence in yourself.

00:47I really liked what I saw here.

00:49Hard not to like what we saw.

00:51He looked really good against a stacked Phillies lineup here.

00:54I mean, it's amazing.

00:56He left the game, all of a sudden,

00:57Philadelphia could hit, right?

00:58And they beat up on the bullpen there.

00:59So yeah, I think Gore is legit.

01:01I think looking at him for Cy Young,

01:03do I think he's going to win it?

01:05No, probably not.

01:06But I might say that about everybody outside of Skeens,

01:08but that's going to be the problem, right?

01:10Skeens is going to have all the publicity here.

01:11He looked good on his well-opening day,

01:13and you got Zach Wheeler,

01:14who also looked good in this game.

01:15So they just have more of the pub than Gore does.

01:18So when you look at that market, that's my worry here.

01:20Gore's got to build that up,

01:21which means he can't be even with these guys.

01:23He has to outpitch them to win the award

01:25at the end of the year.

01:26So I don't mind taking a shot.

01:27You're getting a good price.

01:28And as a sort of hinting here,

01:29that price is going to come down.

01:31All right?

01:31I don't think he's going to fall with the plan.

01:33This is not, oh, he had one good start.

01:34Who cares?

01:35He's terrible.

01:36No, this is a legit, really good starting pitcher.

01:38I might not put him in the same level as Wheeler and Skeens,

01:41but he's not that far behind either.
