00:23For many people, gathering over a roast has long been a way to slow down and reconnect.

00:29Whether it's a part of a celebration or just another weekend treat, it's as much about

00:33the people around the table as it is what's on the plate.

00:37I'm here at Oysx to find out how their new menu aims to bring all of that together.

00:43So Sunday lunch in Oysx restaurant is a treat on Mother's Day.

00:48It's brand new for the restaurants, launching exclusively this month.

00:54It's an experience mum will never forget and it's available every Sunday.

00:59We work with local suppliers to produce all of our ingredients and the chefs magically

01:05craft all of our meals to make every meal unforgettable.

01:12When it comes to recognising mums, everyone's got their own way of doing it.

01:16Some go for flowers or cards, others for a proper sit-down meal or a family day out.

01:22But for most people, it's less about the gesture and more about what it represents.

01:27Whether it's part of a specific occasion or just a chance to say thanks, what matters

01:32is showing appreciation for someone who's often given a lot.

01:36So we've been out in Birmingham to hear what people think matters most when it comes to

01:40how to treat mums and what kind of things make them feel seen and valued.

01:45Some answers were heartfelt, others were plightful, but all of them showed that, no matter the

01:50approach, the sentiment's usually the same.

01:54My mum's got pretty much everything she needs, so what I can give her is a bit of time.

01:58Just spend some time with her.

02:00She really appreciates that.

02:02Cards, flowers, food, food, I'd say food, probably food.

02:08Yeah, I feel like every womanly thing in my life, yeah, food, yeah.

02:14Okay, well I think mums should be honoured for everything they do, for their family and

02:21the world.

02:22And this Mother's Day, I am surprising my mum and going to spend the day with her.

02:29So going to honour her.

02:31I think it's about time.

02:33Just give them, spend some time with them.

02:34It's not always about the gifts or the fancy meal and I think a bunch of flowers or just

02:43your time because nowadays everybody's so busy that it's all about texting and WhatsApp

02:50and I think a mum would like to see, you know, a special day more than a message just

02:56saying Happy Mother's Day, you know, just that personal touch.
