00:00World Athletics President Sebastian Coe has approved the implementation of Cheek Swabs and Dry Blood Spots Tests

00:08for female athletes in order to maintain the integrity of their competitions.

00:14This is part of the initiative of the organization,

00:17which was initiated by Chromosome Testing, which was discontinued in the 1990s.

00:21The athletes who will join the female category need to undergo a Cheek Swab or Dry Blood Spot Test

00:27to determine if they have a Y-chromosome that most men will only be able to see.

00:33Although it is uncertain when the new regulations will be implemented,

00:38it is expected that the formal drafting of Cheek Swabs

00:42and the appointment of testing providers will take place in the coming weeks.

00:46Coe also assured that World Athletics is ready to face any legal challenges.

00:52Their differences in sex development regulations have already passed the Court of Arbitration

01:02They will continue to fight for the protection of the female category in sports.
