00:00I'm going to show you how to do it.
00:30This one day, Janata curfew happened and then 21 days lockdown was announced by the PM Modi.
00:39So I thought, okay, this is very serious and the nursing officer inside me alarmed me that
00:44okay, if it's 21 days country lockdown, the nation needs you.
00:48And I decided then and there without giving it a second thought that I am going to join
00:52the hospital as a nursing officer.
01:03We wear two PPE kits and we have three sets of clothes and three gloves, three masks,
01:12head cover and all those three shoe covers.
01:15So that is tough because you work there for many hours and you can't drink water,
01:21you can't go to the washroom and then you feel sometimes you feel dehydrated.
01:25Actually, all the time you feel like that.
01:27So it's difficult.
01:28We are also on hydrochloroquine.
01:30I'm on this medicine for next six weeks.
01:33So this is tough to be in the ward, in the isolation ward all the time.
01:38I be there for six to eight hours at least.
01:41And then when you go through emotional trauma with everyone,
01:46that what people are, what an 87-year-old patient is fighting with,
01:50what a seven-month-old kid is going through,
01:54all those things are really a very heavy mental trauma to me also.
01:58You lose yourself in such a situation that you won't even get a body from the hospital.
02:04You'll just get a death certificate.
02:06Those all things keep haunting me.
02:12In the ward, I just want to meet everybody, all the patients,
02:16without getting scared of them that they are corona positive.
02:19No, I just go to them, I just talk to them.
02:21I want them to take out all of their heart.
02:33So in all these things, that seven-month-old cute little corona fighter,
02:39the way he smiles at me, the way he looks at me,
02:42he always keeps searching in the ward that where I am.
02:45And when will I go to him.
02:47He feels that I am the one who is wearing the uniform.
02:49Because he realized my voice.
02:51As soon as I go to him, he starts dancing.
02:53He wants to get up, he wants to come.
02:55He wants to come in my lap, but there are some protocols which I cannot cross.
03:01He's so strong.
03:02If you ask me that every day I go specially for him.
03:06First of all, entering the ward, I go check him.
03:09I make him smile.
03:11I just play with him a little bit.
03:13And then I start working.
03:15Right now, I am not an actor.
03:16I am just a citizen.
03:17Just an Indian citizen.
03:18And just a proud nursing officer.
