00:00Arrgh!
00:04And I used to be like, I wanna play Sita and Vaidya but that day never came.
00:24Growing up, I was always afraid of approaching people or talking to them
00:28being the first one to start the conversation and there were two girls I still remember their names
00:33when I was in first grade they were like nobody is going to talk to Tripti and from first till
00:37fifth nobody was actually you know in my class they never used to talk to me because those girls
00:42were popular in class so that you know that just broke my confidence as a kid and I was not very
00:49bright as a student in studies so that also and then I had to repeat one year in sixth standard
00:58because I failed in maths my math was still very horrible I still get dreams
01:02about you know appearing for a maths exam
01:05So he started off by playing Sita then he played Ram for like good five six years then he played
01:24Ravan after that then he played this character called Vashu Ram and now he finally plays Dashrath
01:29those things used to like excite us as kids and you know I used to also tell my
01:34father that even I want to go and do something so he asked me he's like I can let you play Sita's
01:39you know friends or then when Sita is kidnapped there are two Rakshasis who are there with her
01:47at the Ravan's Darbar me and my cousin used to just sit there beside Sita and look at her and I used
01:53to be like oh I want to play Sita one day but that day never came
01:56No one in my family has ever you know stayed away from the parents or you know in a different
02:06city or state and I've always lived in Delhi and when I told them that you know I want to move to
02:12Bombay for work they were like no no chance you're not going to Bombay I was working with some agency
02:17in Delhi then luckily they were opening up a new office in Bombay they were like don't worry we
02:21are here and we look after her every day they used to call me at least six times a day
02:26have you eaten have you done this have you done that and my friends used to be like wow
02:40I used to just mug up my lines and go there and he used to just give me the brief and then I used
02:44to just shut my eyes and go ahead with the scenes but it was you know very difficult
02:48because somehow I felt that I wasn't very truthful to the character because I didn't know anything
02:54you know about acting
03:12This whole debate is I believe it's useless honestly because this this has been going on
03:18forever you know since the time I've come which it's been more than four years this
03:24debate was on there it's on now and it's going to be on forever our focus needs to shift from
03:30actors to the story because we need to understand that our story can be a hero and not the
03:36actors who are doing it if your story is great no matter who's playing it you know it's going to be
03:42received well by the audience because you know with especially OTT now Netflix Amazon there is
03:48such great content people are not going to waste their time watching something that's that they don't like
