00:05Next has revealed an annual profit haul of more than 1 billion pounds. The retailers hiked its

00:10outlook for the year ahead despite worries over the impact of budget measures on consumer

00:14confidence. The high street retail giant reported pre-tax profits of 1.01 billion for the year to

00:20January up 10.1% on the previous year. Travelodge annual sales have edged higher too. The budget

00:28hotel brand says consumers prioritised experiences and leisure trips were bolstered by events like

00:33the Six Nations and Crufts. Travelodge revenues topped 1 billion pounds in 2024, about 0.1% higher

00:40than the year before. Morrison sales jumped to 4 billion pounds in its most recent quarter.

00:46The news comes just days after it said hundreds of its staff are facing redundancy.

00:51The supermarket giant said sales were 2.4% up in the quarter to January 26th.

00:56The company's made £56 million in savings during the period and increased its long-term

01:01savings goal from £700 million to £1 billion. Rachel Reeves has denied there will be further

01:08tax rises or spending cuts at the autumn budget. However, after delivering her spring statement

01:13yesterday, she's this morning stopped short of ruling them out entirely. And Dragon's Den star
