What Black Knights recruitment quote could mean for Hibs

00:00sort of away from the patch, Bournemouth goalkeeper Alex Paulsen is being tipped by

00:07Black Knights president, he's one who could join on loan, he's currently been at Auckland FC,

00:13nothing's done yet, Hibs haven't commented on this officially, it's interesting to me that

00:18I don't know whether they would maybe see going from Auckland to Hibs as a possible step up,

00:24certainly in terms of exposure to the UK market, but as I said I think for me and I don't know if

00:29you're the same, it's more of an indicator of you know is this going to start ramping up in the

00:34summer. But it's a good example of what they can do, we've spoken to Tim Bezbichenko about

00:41how it would work to be loans as one thing but also just permanent deals, going to sign players

00:48and saying you're going to sign for Hibs and you're going to sign a three-year contract

00:53and our plan is that by the end of year two you're ready to move on possibly to Bournemouth

01:00or possibly somewhere else. A, they want them to develop coming up here and playing in as I say

01:05again a respected league, every six weeks ago we were facing an absolute top side that's doing

01:11really well in Europe but I think getting into Europe as well helps, helps just not I think we

01:16talked about this before, helps for your UK work permit if you get those points of playing in the

01:22Europa League group stages, Europa Conference League group stages further down the line but

01:26just helps the development as players. You can bring in a 21-year-old player or a 20-year-old

01:31player and he plays eight or nine European games over two years as well as playing at Celtic Park

01:39and Ibrox and big games and derbies at Easter Road and then it gives them a chance to develop

01:46into, when you say a Bournemouth player, Bournemouth are you know that's you're right

01:50that's the centre of the web, the top of the umbrella whatever you want to call it.

01:54What everyone at Hibs has made clear is they aren't going to be just doing favours, this is

02:00not an altruistic partnership, this is Black Knights are getting something out of it, Hibs have to be

02:05getting something out of it and they've got a veto on anyone coming in, they're not, nobody in Black

02:11Knights is saying sign this guy, Malky McKay and David Gray are like well it doesn't fit into our

02:16team so no we're not signing him. The way it should work is Darwin Stewart's in there working

02:21closely with Malky and Dave and Tim Bezbichenko's in there as well, they should be very clear by now

02:28on what they need, what the profile as players are looking for, bringing in an Alex Paulson

02:34as a goalkeeper, it's fairly obvious they will need another goalkeeper in the summer,

02:38ideally we want a backup who's going to challenge him and push him to be his best every week.
