00:34Every year millions of tons of plastic enters the oceans
00:37and it then concentrates in five areas in the world
00:40called ocean garbage patches.
00:42And the largest one of these is the infamous
00:44Great Pacific Garbage Patch.

01:29What we then figured was instead of going after the plastic,
01:32we let the plastic come to us using very long floating barriers
01:36which sort of float around to let the ocean clean itself
01:40by using the natural ocean currents in our advantage.
01:42And now it turns out we can actually clean up 50%
01:45of this garbage patch in just five years time.
