01:35It is the military regime which has arrested our people and which is continuing to arrest

01:40our people illegally, outside of the law, torturing them, imprisoning them.

01:44My sons are very good to me. They haven't done very well after waking up as a family,

02:05especially after their father died, because Michael was a very good father.

02:15This is a fitting tribute to a courageous woman who speaks for freedom for all the people of Burma.

02:29We have been very strict about following a path of non-violence, because we believe that

02:35in the long run, violence will only bring pain and more suffering for our people.

03:05We do not agree with it. We have dissociated ourselves from the resolution, because we

03:21do not think that the resolution is in keeping with what is actually happening on the ground.

03:26We want to find out why this exodus is happening. We would like to talk to those who have fled,

03:42as well as to those who have stayed.

03:56The case has been held in open court, and if anybody feels that there has been a miscarriage

04:17of justice, I would like them to point it out. They were not jailed because they were

04:23jailed because the court has decided that they had broken the official secret act.

04:41There are, of course, ways in which we, with hindsight, might think that the situation

04:49could have been handled better, but we believe that for the sake of long-term stability and

04:55security, we have to be fair to all sides, that the rule of law must apply to everybody.

05:01We cannot choose and pick whom should be protected by the rule of law.
