Amnesty withdraws human rights award from Aung San Suu Kyi

Amnesty International has stripped Myanmar's leader Aung San Suu Kyi of its most prestigious human rights prize, the Ambassador of Conscience Award.
The human rights group said it was profoundly dismayed at her failure to speak out about violence against the Rohingya Muslim minority.
Some 700,000 Rohingya Muslims have fled Myanmar due to a military crackdown.
Though the UN says Aung San Suu Kyi was not complicit in the violence, she has been criticized for her not using her moral authority to stop what the UN has called the genocide of Rohingyas.
The Ambassador of Conscience Award is the latest in a string of international honors that the Myanmar leader has lost.
