00:00We've been putting dangerous sanitary products inside of our vaginas for so, so long.
00:16We are 3.5 billion women in the world, half of the population.
00:20We menstruate every month during 40 years and yet we don't have menstrual information.
00:26And there was a point that we believed that if we had certain illnesses it was normal.
00:31No, it's not normal. It comes from the chemicals that are in the tampons and in the pads that we've been using for so long.
00:38There is a very important thing as well, it's the environmental impact of these products.
00:43Because we can waste up to 12,000 disposable pads and tampons.
00:48And those products are not biodegradable, so they are going to stay in our landfills and in our water resources for years and years.
01:05This idea was born when I discovered that I was allergic to tampons.
01:10So I've spent like six years of my life going to the gynecologist and asking them for solutions to what was happening to me.
01:19And they just said it was because I was a woman.
01:22But I wasn't sure about that and I started researching and I discovered the menstrual cup.
01:28And the menstrual cup changed my life completely.
01:32So when I realised that there wasn't any place to go to gather information, I decided to start with a project.
01:54There are many women and many girls that don't have access to those products and are skipping school, for example.
02:01So I think it's time to rethink about the arguments that we've been receiving from media and advertisement again.
02:09And understand that we are the ones that have to take care of our bodies.
02:15And it is time to really look at what we are putting inside us.
