00:00The most difficult part of the run, physically, was probably the first 16 hours
00:05trying to hand express the milk as it built up without access to a pump.
00:22Even though I knew it was going to be only three months after I gave birth,
00:26I at least want to experience a start line.
00:28So that was the goal, really just experience the start line,
00:31maybe run through the first night and just see how it went.
00:58I've had such a positive response. I've been talking to so many people about this.
01:03And I really do feel that there's a platform for women to talk about their needs
01:08and the fact that we don't want to lose our sense of self when we have children.
01:12I don't want to say to expansion and new mums that they should be running the UTMB three months after childbirth.
01:18I think I've prepared this for a long time, I've been a runner a long time,
01:21and I've learned specific preparation.
01:23What I want to say to you mothers is that I think it's really important
01:26that you get the support around you to take time for yourself.
01:29For me, for my mental and my physical health, it's very important for me to be able to do sport,
01:34to run, to have some me time out there.
01:37And by doing that, I can be a better mother to my children.
