00:00I'm a Christian, a conservative, and a Republican, in that order.

00:26He is solid as a rock.

00:28He's been a fantastic vice president.

00:30He's done everything you can do.

00:32In this election, it's not so much whether America will be more conservative or more

00:38liberal, more Republican or more Democrat.

00:44The choice in this election is whether America remains America.

00:57I grew up on the front row of the American dream.

01:00My grandfather immigrated to this country.

01:03I was raised in a small town in southern Indiana, in a big family with a cornfield in the backyard.

01:10Although we weren't really a political family, the heroes of my youth were President John

01:14F. Kennedy and the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

01:25The good book says if you owe debts, pay debts.

01:27I rise today to discharge a large one in my life, for it was 25 years ago, as young men

01:33at Hanover College, that then the student John Gable, more than anyone else, challenged

01:38me to take seriously the claims of Christ.

01:41I'll never forget the day, Mr. Speaker, that young John Gable said to me, remember, Mike,

01:45you've got to wear it in your heart before you wear it around your neck.

02:08You know, growing up, I actually started in politics in the other party, until I heard

02:13the voice and the ideals of the 40th President, and I signed on for the Reagan Revolution.

02:35But the best thing that ever happened to me, even counting tonight, is that 31 years ago,

02:43I married the girl of my dreams, a schoolteacher, an artist.

02:47She is everything to me.

02:50Would you welcome my wonderful wife, Karen Pence?

04:14I believe that God created the known universe, the earth and everything in it, including

04:19man.

04:20And I also believe that someday, scientists will come to see that only the theory of intelligent

04:25design provides even a remotely rational explanation for the known universe.

04:32But until that day comes, and I have no fear of science, I believe that the more we study

04:38the science, the more the truths of faith will become apparent.

04:41I just would humbly ask, as new theories of evolution find their ways into the newspapers

04:47and into the textbooks, let us demand that educators around America teach evolution not

04:54as fact, but as theory.

06:24I found the leader who will help us deliver a safe society and a prosperous, really prosperous

06:47society for all Americans.

06:50Indiana Governor Mike Pence was my first choice.

07:03This is a historic night.

07:06I come to this moment deeply humbled, grateful to God for his amazing grace.

07:17Life is winning again in America.

07:32That is evident in the election of pro-life majorities in the Congress of the United States

07:38of America.

07:43But it is no more evident in any way than in the historic election of a president who

07:51stands for a stronger America, a more prosperous America, and a president who I proudly say

07:58stands for the right to life, President Donald Trump.

08:25On this night in the company of heroes, I'm deeply grateful.

08:33Deeply grateful for the privilege of serving as Vice President of this great nation and

08:38to have the opportunity to serve again.

08:42I pray to be worthy of it, and I will give that duty all that's in me.
